    Wires!!!!

I'm istalling a shower on my 2003 SANTE and I have pretty much everything done except for the power to the pump. I took the kick pannel off and all I could do was scratch my head. I would like to wire it so the pump is turned on using the spare 12v button on the key pad. My question is how in the world do I find that wire to connect the pump wire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    RE: Wires!!!!

I was reading in the owners manual that there should be a yellow accessory wire coiled up near the control box, but I found nothing. The only yellow wires I found were in the covered bulk of wires. there are three there, 2 connected to 1.

        RE: Wires!!!!

alright I found the spare yellow wire coiled up behind the throttle. Problem is it is hot so as soon as I touch the wires the pump kicks on, even when everything is in the off posiiton. I guess I could use a toggle switch but I would rather use that button on the keypad that is not being used. On some boats it actually has a shower head on it but on mine it just has 12V.

          RE: Wires!!!!

Talked to the Nautique mechanic in town and he told me whats up. On the 03 they stopped putting the shower in because of liability. so what has to be done is find the correct blank hole in the plug of wires that goes to the breaker box and connect the wire there. He is sending me a schematic today. My problem is figuring out how to secure the wire in the plug because I don't have the right tools to do so. Any suggestions here.

jward, in '03 they still offered the shower, mine came from the factory. Even if your boat didn't come from the factory with a shower the wiring harness is still there. Look in the engine compartment on the driver's side. Down near where the motor mount bolts to the stringer is a bundle of wires. Coming out of that bundle you should see a 2 wire connector with 1 orange/black wire and 1 black wire. If memory serves correcttly the harness will have a plug with the 2 wires connected together on the other end. This is the factory connection for the shower pump motor.

Once you find that harness, cut the looped wire in two. Wire your pump motor to the ends. This will make the shower pump operate off the "shower" button on the dash. This wiring should be true from 2003-2005. Here is the wiring schematic that shows the wiring... http://planetnautique.com/index.php?...q=getit&lid=57

I did this same install on an '03 and everything worked as if it came from the factory with the shower. Hope this helps.

Actually I believe the liability is that you usually use the shower while standing on the swim platform with the motor running, thus inhaling fumes. It doesn't make much hot water while the engine is off, and you usually don't stand inside the boat with the shower on, so it's a fume hazard, from what I understand.

Found it. Yep the mechanic was wrong. There was the orange and black wire already coming from the breaker box.
                            Thanks again
