The deal is done ! After "water testing" the 2007 (included half a dozen passes through the course), I was sold ... Frankly, I did not notice the wakes at all and even tried a couple of passes @ 32" off. :grin:

2007 196 Limited with 160 hrs.

Thx, lotsa red fo sho. Red certainly wasn't my first choice but that helped in the negotiations allowing for an awesome deal. The trailer was a surprise as the Ram-lin was black but for the same money, I was given the dual axle Eagle. When comparing the two trailers side by side, IMO, the Eagle was the better choice. Aside from the 8+ hr trip home the trailer will see 2 hours of "road work" each season and then hidden in a garage for the rest of the time while the boat sits on a lift. Boat came with Perfect Pass.

Yup, red cover. Frankly, I haven't even seen it on the boat and expect I'll probably replace it next summer. Aside from the bow section looking crappy due to rubbing against the Ram-lin trailer, I'd like to get something to protect the sides of the boat from the sun while on the lift. Any ideas ?

I always wondered what the definitive was. I bought my very first Nautique last August (an 07 206). On one side of the boat, the sticker says TSC2, and the other side's sticker says TSC3. I never knew what to think about that, other than a screw up at the factory.

Stoke is right about the drive by wire. It did come out in 07. But in order to convert it to ZO in 07 you also have to change out the wiring harness in the first or early boats of 07 along with having your ECM changed or have it flashed. Any of the years 02 to 09 196's are great boats.. The wakes are not that much different you can't go wrong with any of those years. There are conversion kits available now I here they run around 3K which includes the ZO unit. But you may want to double check the price.

World record with a TSC1?

If you are skiing in competition I would agree you should look at a 2006+ Having said that I own a 2000 that pulled Chris Parrish through 41 off. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the TSC hulls.
