    230 Engine Choice

WellI'm getting really close to selling my 06 Malibu Wakesetter VLX and ordering a completly loaded 230 Team and was planning on having the Fly High ballast installed in the boat. Currently I'm planning on ordering the Z06 engine but was making sure that this engine was the best choice for the boat I was about to order. The boat that I test drove had the Z06 so that's all that I have driven.

409 vs 343 hp. No brainer for me to go with the big one. I don't think the 2 chices have ever been that far apart on hp. Granted with the right prop and low RPMs, the difference will not be noticeable, but I load up my boat with a lot of people and am a gearhead at heart. Would you get the Mustang, Camaro, Charger, etc. with a 6 cylinder or the V8? But it is about a 5-6K option, so I understand why some forgo the bigger engine.

Thanks, on a side note my mustang has a supercharger because it needed more power!

On a side note to your side note, my three jetskis and jet boat have superchargers too. My fastest jetski has 255 hp and does 0 to 50 in about 2.9 seconds. So I agree, your mustang did need more power. Did you put in a roush?

Yes it has the Roush super charger, stage 3 kit, Foose 20" rims and a buch of other extras. I use to race jet skis back in 96 so those have to be fast. I will stick with the bigger motor on the 230

Last one, I promise. Getting off track here. Glad you are getting the bigger engine.

If I had it to do over again I would have a Whipple or Keene Bell but I made a mistake and I'm going to live with it on this car.
