I recently bought a 1998 Sport Nautique from the original owner in Orlando. He purchased the boat from SECC. It has only 400 hours on it and the owner told me the motor was replaced at 100 hours due to a recall. Has anyone any knowledge to support this? I have checked and dont find anything on this. The sales person was Jeff Husby when he purchased this boat. Thank you in advance.

RE: 1998 Engine Recall/Replacement
Don't hold me to this, but I seem to remeber hearing about this over the years. I want to say it was a very few boats they did this on. I'd call PCM directly and give them the serial number off the motor. They would also remember something like this especially being the GT40 where so well built.

RE: 1998 Engine Recall/Replacement
My dealer said that there are some GT-40s that once they hit 100 hours they would develop a knock. If I remember correctly the culprit was a water passage on one of the cylinders that was not big enough and it under cooled a cylinder. It was a bad mold from the foundry.2001 Super Air Nautique
Python Powered
100 Amp Alternator
Dual Batteries
Many upgrades coming...
