    TOWER???

this is just for my piece of mind

when you fold the fct tower down on my 06 210 team should the top part where you hook your rope on line up with the front hook that you would hoist your boat up with because mine is out 2-3" from lining up i thought it should line up that is the center of the boat just wanted to make sure it was not bent just bought and only have about 50 hours on the boat

    thanks :???: :???:

Ideally, I would think so, but nothing is built to ideal. With the amount of play in the parts and the tolerances in the manufacturing I wouldn't worry about 2-3". A foot or two, probably, but not 2-3". If it really bothers you, you could probably loosen the mounting screws and give it a slight twist. I personally wouldn't mess with it.

Look how bad the one on the 236 looks from the top view in the 09 catalog.

You have to remember that the molds that our boats are built from are hand made. Consequently, they are not necessarily symetrical. For example when I repaired a badly damage 93 SN, I used one side to make template to repair the other side. What I found out is that although the two sides looked identical they were off by quite a bit when compared via a template. So, this could explain why the tower centerpoint is off the centerline of the boat. Or, it could be that the tower was not mounted perfectly parallel (or perpendicular) the centerline of the boat.

Either way, I agree, don't worry about it.
