08 210 owners please check....

I was on one of the rear sun pads today gearing up for a board when I stood on what felt like a nail. It turned out to be the end of one of the screws attaching the hydraulic lifter to the underside of the hatch cover. It actually pierced the upholstery (see arrow) and drew blood. After a closer inspection of both hatch covers I found all four screws to be too long. Just a heads up to be aware you could experience the same problem. I have removed all four screws (2 each side) and will be replacing them with shorter ones.

Also for all 08 210 owners:

Be sure to have your dealer perform the recall repair on the trans/throttle cable control (? exact technical terminology). The problem first presents with trouble starting the boat and I had to jiggle the throttle a little as if it were in gear preventing me from starting the engine. This was not the case because the throttle was definitely in the neutral position as confirmed by the click.

A few weeks ago as I was approaching my boat slip I put the boat in reverse and gave it a little throttle and it got stuck in reverse at about 2000 rpms :shock: ! I had to just shut it down and luckily was just a few feet from home.

Get the recall repair corrected before this causes you any trouble or potential damage!

to me it's unacceptable and sad, they've been leaving screws with exposed ends poking way to close to vinyl that you'd sit or stand t on for years. I love my nautique ,but that seems like a real dumb way to finish the product. ...

Ours has screw, which will be fixed under warranty now that the season is over, under the motor cover in the very back.

If you really get down to it you can find many "sloppy workmanship" areas on any Nautique. Sometimes you need to take some things apart or in this case just walk around. Either way they should look into some better Quality Control.

Anyone else had this problem? It turns out ""all" the screws used to fix the 3 rear hatch covers/hydraulic arms are too long. There are now numerous holes in the vynl across all 3 covers....not good!

Ours was like that but caught it within the fix week and kept people off the corners and sides until we could get it in for warranty work.
