rosconole --- I've skiied on Christmas Eve/Day in Lutz, FL when visiting relatives, just a few miles north of Tamps with nothing but swimsuit & life-jacket.
I however will pass on doing the same up in NC at that time of year.

There was a story, I think last year, about a three man 'club' that skis here year round. Their goal is to get in the water at least once a month every month, and have done it for something like 8-10 years. They utilize wetsuits and drysuits, of course.

There were or are a couple guys up here that do that same thing. Nautique owners at that. I met them a few years ago at the New Years Day ride. They said they had done it something liek 15-years in a row and this was at least ten years ago.

Well, heading to see Mickey and have a session scheduled for skiing. Supposed to be 70 degrees. I can probably (hopefully) stand it but I don't know about the kids...

If anybody is interested in Disney update, the Sammy Duvall guys were nice, but I was a little disappointed in the condition of the gear. The MC197 had hp but also a huge wake. I used their Big Daddy ski instead of my 75" World Team, and hated it. I'm glad I got a run in but now I long for my boat and ski. water was a brisk low 70s. My 6 year old daughter kneeboarded twice without getting in the water (pushed off the platform, rode, and then floated while we circled around to pick her up.

I'm glad for the experience of skiing on the lagoons down there, but won't be repeating the experience.

Also, saw Nautiques of Orlando as I came and went...has three major things going for it: Location, Location, Location. Right on I-4. Didn't get to stop and unfortunately the kids are too young for a factory tour. Something to look forward to next time.

SkiTower, with the weather we've had in NC these past few days we could be on the water now. I probably would have been out Sunday if the 210 was here.

I'm contemplating riding in 3-weeks. The air should be in the 70's and the water will be in the 54 degree range...nothing a 3/2 can't help with, right?

with a good 3/2 and air 70 or above even 50degree water is not that bad. i did it a couple weeks ago. even from a wussy stand point(not mine) it's nothing to cringe over.
