It's gonna be a LONG winter!

Anybody else N. of the winterizing line ready for boating season already? Just put mine up this weekend (but haven't used it in several weeks). And already itching to head to the lake. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

It was nice here in Atlanta today, I went out for about an hour and plan on going back out tomorrow for a bit. Water is a little cool but still doable for a few more days.

To early to put your boat up if your in Raleigh. We skied and boated till the end of October for the 14 years we lived there. Never used any thing more then a heater top or just our shorts and suits. Somedays we would just go out on Jordon and cruise and enjoy the peace and quiet. Your missing out if your have allready put it up. BTW is the slalom course still up on the other side of the bridge from ebineezer ramp?

I agree with NCH20. we were out yesterday on JHarris and it was gorgeous. Gonna be even better tomorrow. Dark keeps us away more than the weather at this time of year in Raleigh.

There's no doubt that there are many places that are gorgeous in the winter time. However, being a native Floridian, anything below 80, and I go into a coma.

Besides, we don't have to shovel heat. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

I have to admit, it's more a case of being too busy to get out and the kids having a lack of tolerance for a little chill (6, 8). Lack of daylight really kills any chance of afternoon outings.

Okay, I'm gonna threadjack my own thread (but since you brought it up SNMike)...for those of you in FLA, what's the weather like during Thanksgiving? The Mrs. and I are taking the kids to see Mickey and I'm thinking of spending an hour with Sammy Duvall (skiing on the Disney Lagoon). Wondering what the air and water temp can be expected to be. Thought this would be a good opportunity to get a lesson from a pro, see the competition (uses MC), and I imagine the kids will never quit talking about how they kneeboarded at WDW.

Morning ST!! It's cooling off for sure, but I personally, being in N.Fla., have about another month to go before I consider putting the 196 to bed for a while. Water temp here is still 80. I would imagine, giving your local, that you won't have any problem at all enjoying your sets with Sammy. A shorty wet suit worst case, but you might even scoff at that. C'mon down, go for it. You won't regret my friend.

BTW, while in Fla., have a great time and be safe.

I had my boat out at the weekend just past. The water temperature was a tropical 11C (about 52F I think), but that's only 4C cooler than it's summer maximum. Needless to say a good steamer is needed on all but the warmest days in the summer here in Scotland I reckon I've got a few weeks left - the only thing that really stops our season is the possibility of frost damage to the engine, otherwise we would ski right through the winter.

Hyco Lake NC, we go at least till mid to the end of November. Maybe a heater shirt to knock the chilly air off a bit. Water temp last weekend at the warm water was 78 degrees.

Last sunday the water here in central Illinios was 66 f. We stop under 70, more for the reason that the grandkids are getting to busy in school and the son is a wossy when it come to cool water.

It is going to be a LONG winter, indeed.
I pulled my dock and lifts on 04Oct. Winterized the Mustang last weekend. Will winterize and put the Super Air to bed this coming Saturday. I have plenty to do in the fall and winter to keep me busy, but I HATE ending summer. Our water temp dropped below 60* about 10 days ago, and most people do not want to come out and play anymore. I will probably get one or two more rides in this year. With respect to winter, I love it in the mountains. I have a cabin in North Idaho and winter is fantastic there. Tons of snow, and not really cold. Last year, we got nearly 300 inches. However, here in MN, it gets way too cold, and we do not get enough snow consistently to have much fun in it.
