Since I am still waiting to get my manifold back from the machine shop, I pulled the boat into the garage and started on a little bit of cleanup and refurb before she goes up for good this winter.
Started with the rub rail insert rope, it had a red/white insert that did not match the boat very well. I swapped it out for a solid black rope. Made a huge difference in how the lines of the boat flow in my opinion
Next pulled all of the seats out and gave it a good vacuuming. Followed that up with shampoing the carpet. This really helped get some of the old matted areas of the carpet to "fluff" up some. Smells better now too.
I have my speaker box for a ten to go under the bow, still looking ot get an amp though. I pulled the old headunit out of the glove box, replaced it with a JVC (free from a buddies wrecked car) This one looks and works much better. Plus it has the MP3 hookup the old one was lacking.
I then pulled the current speakers, they turned out to be in much better shape behind those old rusted grills than I thought so they were cleaned up and new grills put on and they went back in.
All the wiring under the dash for the stereo was a mess at this point so I spent a few hours cleaning it all up and ziptieing it out of the way. Now I wont hang a wire when I pull a life jackt out of the bow!
New 6.5's and enclosures will be coming next. All speakers will be ran off of a 4 channel amp when I get one picked out.
(pics not working ofr some reason, Ill get them up later)
