Has any one noticed the new GM 4.5 liter diesel coming out in 2010? 310 hp, 520 lb-ft of torque, 70 fewer parts as the 6.6 liter diesel. May I make a motion that CC at least put out a few models with this motor, using PN members for market research.

I am willing to bet that there are a few prototypes in existence with diesel engines. What I have heard is that the option would be much more expensive than almost anyone wold be willing to pay. Skied it
I know there is at least one out there. I skied behind it while they were breaking it in here at Lake X in downtown Orlando. Can't remember the year but it was the same year they had the spider tower. It was a closed bow 196. I think the boat got sent to Europe. EXPENSIVE option.

An aquantance of mine makes biodiesel. Its so easy that I was thinking of doing it myself. It would be like skiing behind a french frie truck. The seals in the engine would have to be able to handle the different fuel. This whole " 30K option " for the VW motor sounds a little off to me. That means that a car with this upgrade would cost that much more also. Plus do you think that GM is gonna charge over 4 or 5K more and expect to sell it in this market where diesel is even more expensive than gas.

I would think that the extra heat would cause a problem and sking behind a french fry truck would make me want to go to shore for hambergers\"03\" ski 196 SE (for course use) current boat

I was told by several employees of MC that the diesel engine upgrade is 30K. I thought it was crazy and asked another I knew whom was in sales and he confirmed it. Seems rediculous to me, but it is what I was told.
