Help me pick out my Bimini!

For what its worth, i have the over the tower bimini on my 220. from a shade and asthetics standpoint it cannot be beat. i would, however, not suggest it. when the rider falls and you circle back around to pick him up, the rope will catch on the rear corner of the bimini, especially if you make a tight circle to give the rider instructions. if it doesnt pop off of the corner, IT WILL RIP THE H3LL OUT OF THE BIMINI. the first time i did it, i chalked it up to a one time error. the second time i did it i was being very cognizant of the potential design flaw and managed to rip the other side.

I have a friend that bought a 220 w/ the over the tower bimini. I emphasized how close attention you have to pay to the issue. He ripped his the second time out...

I have #1 on my 2003 SANTE 210. I liked how it looked in the pics, but once I put it up on my boat, I can't get Captain America out of my head. It is too busy for a bimini. If I do it again, I would do something close to #3.

Does the top get to high when mounted above the tower to provide adequate shade? I like my bimini low and large. Go red, black will get too hot.

Depending on the angle of the sun, mine pretty much shades the entire main cockpit. The kids don't like to sit in the bow anymore.

this might be a downside, I don't know since I pull off the main pylon. Getting to the tower pylon with the bimini up might be a little tricky for someone shorter, too. But in my situation, I wouldn't trade it.

getting to the tow point on the 220 tower is actually not a problem w/ the XL over the tower bimini. the lean back humps on each side give you perfect platforms to step on to get to the tow point.

the problem of the tow line catching the bimini is exacerbated when you are on a busy water way---you look up to check that you are not hung up on the bimini, a roller comes in and it gets hooked when you are not looking, and bam---you get a 12" tear in the corner of your nice new rag...

Haha, sorry bud, didn't mean to ruin it for you. It does look good in pics and looks great when you see it with the entire boat (like from shore), but when you are sitting under it...the logo is just too much...totally Captain America. Just my opinion.
