206 Paddle wheels

For those with a 206 where is your Perfect Pass Paddle wheel ? Did you follow the PP recomendation of 6-8 inchs to the side of the drain plug? Do you have a ballast tank? Thanks I'm trying to get it right the first time.

from the factory, they are being mounted about 6-8 inches to the left (port side) of the centerline of the boat. You don't want to put it up near the drainplug because the plug is in the battery box at that point. You want it right near the front of the engine itself.
Hope this helps. By the way, that is with no ballast tanks in the boat.

The Perfect Pass paddle wheel went in at the CC recommended spot as you recommened towards the front of the engine. Works Great, I just don't know why Perfect Pass recommends to the side of the drain plug.

j2nh is yours factory installed? My friends 196 promo boat has it in the engine compartment like my 206

yes, factory installed. left of drain plug (passengers side) by about 6 inches. Never had a problem. Other than the dispaly on the PP is too small and not readable with polarized sunglasses on. Emailed PP about that two weeks ago. Their reply was to wear cheap sunglasses. Oh well. So much for the power of the consumer.
