    Winterization Question

I decided to go ahead and winterize my boat. It is an 06 210 nautique with the 5.7 liter excalibur engine. I just wanted to make sure that I am not forgetting to do anything. I read through most of the manual but wanted to double check that i got it right. I think i got everything drained that is shown on page 65 of the owners operational and maintance manual showing the raw water flow with drain locations.

    1. I added fuel stabilizer and Fogged the enginge.
    2. Removed the 2 drain plugs from the block.
    3. Removed 2 big brass plugs and drained water from the exhaust manifolds.
    4. Removed the Raw Water Plug from underneath the transmission.
    5. Removed and drained plug from the circulating Pump.
    6. Removed the hose that runs to the Raw water pump assembly and drained water from a plug that i think would be the oil cooler. Not sure what it is called. It is connected to the same hose that i drained water from which hooks to be the Raw water Pump assembly.

So that is my question #6 Do i have a heat exchanger that i still need to drain and did i drain the oil cooler?

I also drained the water from the strainer. I then ran antifreeze through the boats water intake hose until it started to come out of the exhaust. I also drained the antifreeze from the strainer.

Is there Anything else I might have missed or that you would suggest doing before storing the boat for a couple of months in Utah?

I still need to pull out the impellar and probably replace with a new one.
Thanks for reading this long post. The people and posts on this site have been very helpful.

I just wanted to add this attachment. We will see if it lets me this time. It was in a tiff format and i just changed it to jpeg.
Anyways the star to the bottom right below the exhaust manifold is the one that i am confused about. Dont know what it is called.
    Thanks.

The star at the bottom right of the picture/schematic is showing your trans oil cooler. Besides the water hoses on the ends, it will also have two smaller oil line/hoses that go to your trans. Removing the hose (water) from the lowest end will drain it and may even be easier than removing the drain plug. It's also safer - the outer shell of the cooler is copper and the threaded drain boss is soldered on. They have been known to break off!!

        Pablo,

Another thing you may want to do, there is a Faria ECM (or whatever it's called) in the trunk of my 206, yours should have one as well, it's a good idea to remove both speedo pickup lines to ensure they are totally drained. It's not a bad idea to remove the entire module and store it in a dry place if you feel so inclined. I remove my impeller and serpentine belt, if the impeller looks good I re use it next year. The way I fog mine is remove all spark plugs, spray fogging oil in each cylinder, turn motor over by hand several times, replace plugs/wires.

Thanks for the help and suggestions. I dont know where the ECM would be on my boat and have no idea how to drain the speedo pickup lines. How big of a pain is it to remove the impellar? Also what do you do to winterize the ballast tanks? One last question that i have. What tool do you use to remove the raw water plug under the transmission. The manual said to use a 9/16 hex head but it is actually a square shape. I used my ratchet and was able to remove it but it definately was not the correct tool.
