Wow, local service is great. So do you ever hit Buckhorn? That's my "afternoon run" lake. Apparently there is a ski/wake club on the lake, but they don't have any CC's. I found out the hard way, though, stay away from the north end of the lake. Get's MIGHTY shallow.

I've been a few times. As you said it is very shallow. I did see an all blue 211 out there one day last year. My afternoon runs are usually at Tar River Reservoir. Those last until about June/July though as it dries up quick when we don't get rain. My go to lake is Kerr.

my afternoon is Buckhorn, day trip is Harris, weekend is Norman, and a week a summer we're at Whitelake. Wife wants to try Keowee this summer and I want to get back to Smith Mountain Lake. I used to go to Kerr but it was too rough and/or crowded. Harris is a shorter drive and so far not as rough.

If you see a B/W 211 or a bright yellow 196 at Buckhorn, say hi.

          Will do.

Kerr too rough or crowded? You must have went on a windy holiday weekend. I know some coves in that lake that are butter 95% of the time, even on weekends.

mostly weekends and holidays. The coves I've found were generally nice and smooth but I couldn't get them to myself.

I have never been down to White Lake and I had a little time today so I headed down to the open house from Raleigh. The showroom boats definetely trended to the wakeboard crowd with only 1 direct drive 206 vs about 8-9 V drives. The new 230 is absolutely beautiful. Too bad (or good for my wallet) that it wont come close to fitting in my garage. My 6-yr old was ready to buy it on the spot. Everyone was real nice and I bought a couple things from the store to make it worth my drive.

No water demos when I was there although I didnt specifically ask. The only 216V I saw was in the middle of the showroom. I walked out on the pier to the see the lake and the pier/docks were empty.
