    alabama get together

i live down in mobile and wanted to know if any other nauti owners wanted to have a little shindig this spring maybe on lake martin or my personal, semi-private, lake outside of auburn. i just want to meet some like minded folks since my riding crew consists of four other people down here. i mean i'll get on the grill all day and cook for everyone as long as i get a couple pulls in-between. skiers, skaters, boarders, and owners welcome. what do ya'll think?

i usually start riding sometime in march, but it's not really warm until april i would say. if we can get some folks to make it a real get together i'll definitely coordinate everything and work out dates and what not that are workable for everyone.

I'm in North Alabama, but originally from Mobile and my brothers in Auburn so depending on the date It would be a possibility for me

i think auburn would be a decent spot for everyone. im not familiar with lakes more north than that. the lake im thinking of has huge tree lines on both sides, about two houses, and fisherman who disappear into coves as soon as they launch. it's actually in tallassee, al. anyone who might want to come throw out some location ideas

sorry about that. like i said, skiers, slalomers, boarders, skaters, surfers, barefooters, jumpers, trick skiers, and yes even knee boarders welcome as long as you have a nauti or come with someone who does. i'd love to see everyone's boats and the stereo's, towers, mods and what not. i think april would be a good month b/c its warm but still cool enough to keep alot of folks off the water. who knows the honey holes on lake martin? we need to do it tourney style and anchor next to one another(not touching) and all watch everyone ride.

Wind Creek State Park on the North side, Alexander City is near the best water on the lake. Least populated and might be a good spot to gather. there are some decent Hotels in Alex City that would be less than 10 minutes from ramps. There are some spot just as good scattered around but for multiple boats I vote for Wind Creek area.

I want to be realistic and maybe no one is interested in a really big gathering but give this some thought.
A big Alabama Nautique gathering could be a blast, maybe a two day weekend event. This would require sponsors; boat and truck dealers, marinas and such to help promote and coordinate. With a few good sponsors this could become a truly big event. Are there any large parking areas at Martin with boats ramps where say a Ford dealer could display trucks and there would be plenty of room for the general public to come view the boats?
Local radio, Correct Craft and local hotels/motels may consider helping promote for their own benefit. With the right local and state wide press and radio it could possibly attracted prospective boat and truck buyers and we know they need to boost sales. Here are some ideas to make it more interesting; Door prizes, awards for best tricked out boat, best tricked out tow truck, best boat/truck combination. Obviously we would need the sponsors to take care of prizes.
Maybe pie in the sky, give it some thought.
