    RE: Good Luck

i really dont see the need for corporate, bankrupt, sponsors. everyone already has a boat and truck to get there. if we had a contest sponsors would be nice, but this is a grassroots get together. it doesnt have to be HUGE. there's always time to grow. contacting the nautique dealer in n. bama might be a good idea, but no car companies or anything like that. and if we did it would be gm/vortec. we can probably get redbull to kick in some drinks and i might be able to get jd webb to come do a demo if he isn't busy since he rides for nautique and redbull. email me at gride300@aol.com and give me any ideas for location and what dates you can do and i'll try to get the average of dates and set up a time.

like i said, i'm not too familiar with killer spots in mid bama, but i'm working on it. im thinking positively but i'm pretty sure we can make it happen. hopefully cc will be on board. i dont see why they wouldnt be so keep your fingers crossed.

I dont know anything about Lake Martin or the area, but make sure to personally scout any spots being considered well before the big day, especially if you have never been there before. I wouldnt rely on someones recomendation alone unless its at like a private house or something

Wind Creek should have plenty of campsites available in early spring. I've been on Martin all my life from one end to the other. If the water is all the way up there are plenty of great spots to ride , ski, whatever. If you head up the river past the railroad bridge, just a few minutes ride from Wind Creek, it's like a private lake in places, just scout the area for logs before you make your run. The only thing about late March early April is sometimes the wind is an issue, but on the plus side there's usually only fishermen on the lake. : )

One more thought. What if you moved it to Smith lake. There is a neat resort called the Lakeshore Inn. It has a huge parking lot, 34 rooms all on the lake, a restaurant on location. Lakeshore is located on some of the best riding water in the world!!!!

I lost my butt there in 02 and 03 trying to own it and it owned me. The whole time I was there though I used to dream about stuff like this happening. Scooter Rambo came up and had a spring demo there one year. Big dock to park the boats on in the water, big parking lot to stage in. do a search on it. Lakeshore Inn on smith lake.

Wakefactory and North Alabama Nautiques....errr.. Ryan Creek Marina - local dealership on Ryan Creek at Smith Lake - are two excellent places to look for help with organization.... fwiw. The Smith Lake idea is the best yet... lots of great water and tons of Nautiques already on the lake.
