Wiring a 2001 Air Nautique FCT

We own a 2001 Air Nautique with a collapsable FCT that is not pre-wired. I'am thinking of adding tower speakers, Sub woofer and amplifier seeing our boat is equipt only with the factory installed stereo. Has anyone succesfully run the wires inside the FCT and how was it done? Would also like some recommendations on reasonably priced speakers and woofer. Also, where was the woofer installed? Any help will be much appreciated.

Sweet Boat!! I don't think our tower is predrilled, at least what I remember. Boat is put away for the winter. Drilling holes shouldn't be a problem. What did you use to pull the wire through ? Snake or a piece of wire?

Do some searching on the site for various stereo installs, there is some good info out there.
The tower on our 206 is pretty much the same as yours, the port side forward tower leg foot was pre-drilled thru the hull so all the speaker wire went up thru there, out the lower leg and back in the upper like in BP's photo. I exited the wires from the front bar which was a bit easier then how BP did his, our top cross bars are much closer together so IMO it worked out and looks fine. I fished the wires using 12ga solid elec wire, have heard of guy's using a vacuum to pull a fish line thru as well.
Be sure and use good 12ga min. speaker wire, grommets and also wiremold where the wire is exposed. I would guess your sub could go behind the observers seat, which is where mine is, otherwise if no heater there may be room to put it in the kick panel below the dash. The amps work well where BP showed his, again that is where mine are, just make sure there is a backer board in place or install one.

Quinner hits it out the park, again. I tried using ground wire from a residential electric wire and it was so-so. I finally taped my hose from the shop vac to the hole and used ribbon to get through the tower. feed it from the top down, so gravity helps you out. The tape ripped off my finish on my tower though, so you might want to put a washcloth over the tower and put the tape on that, or something, so the tape's not touching the actual tower. Just a thought. Once you get your lead line through then pull the wire. Use a seperate lead line for the top and bottom, then do the top, then feed to the bottom. I also used rubber feet from the hardware store for the bottom of my sub box, so it's not on the wet floor, and also made the sub fire downwards, which really sounds great in my boat. I hope that helps...

I used lightweight twine and a shop vac to get it through the tower.
