You just cant beat the look of Teak

I accidentally found a teak platform on an obscure marine salvage web site. This guy has skids of CC platforms for salvage prices. My 226 had the standard fiberglass with black rubber and it has started tracking black on my feet. I know teak needs care to look good but it makes the boat look much more classy. He had two for the 226 but had many more for the 196, 210, 216 & 220.

Yea! I couldnt believe how much better the teak looked. I wish I could remove the black rubber on the back step and replace with the ligh grey. If anyone is interested I would sell the 226 fiberglass platform.

            Jbird,
That is the same place I got mine from. It was a little rough when I got it but a little sanding and some teak oil and it looks fantastic.

just scrub the black rubber with soap and water and a brush and rinse it once or twice a year and it wont track the black anymore.

I guess Im just old school, I like the teak. I know the rubber can be cleaned but it has started cracking and didnt look all that great. I know teak is a yearly maintenance item but all my previous boats had teak and I just make it a habbit to sand and oil it each year.

                  2006 210 Teak

Teak platform came from a 2005 210 - had to trade due to no option available any longer other than on the two ski nautiques

I used black stain on my teak platform(black 210). few clearcoats and voilą! looks badass.

I agree. Fiberglas is nice. But IMO I love the feel of the teak. When its finished real nice its very smooth and feel's great to sit on.

We are really talking about the beautiful natural color and feel of Teak.

+2 Saceone... I have never thought of staining the platform before, but would like to see it. That may become my new winter project.
