    Questions about fct towers

    okay I have just bought a 08 san 210 it has the fct1 tower and I am not to happy with the looks of this tower. I would rather have the fct2 or even the fct3. What i was wondering is if I can change this tower or if there will be too many holes in he boat. What those towers would cost. What I could sell the old tower for? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    to each his own, but this is the best tower they make. the 2 sucks and the 3 is interesting. i've NEVER folded a tower personally. you can definitely change to anything. im sure you're looking at an arm and a leg though. like you, most order w/ a tower

      I am thinking about a 09 210 with either the FCT1 OR FCT2 tower.
      What do you think Sucks about the Fct2 tower?
      My understanding is the 09 FCT1 has smaller tubing to save weight
      when lowering the tower do you think that is a strength issue? :???:

        i just absolutely love the 1. i like the rake, the size of the rope hitch on it, etc. the only thing i dislike is the flight clips. even the rotating ones. mc has board racks on lock for sure.

          I have seen posts on the MC forum concerning wake boards slipping
          out of the MC racks wile under way. They are the easyest to use but
          if they don't hold that could be catastrophic.

            na i had one not long ago. you cant drive down the interstate with boards in the racks, but aside from that they are honestly 100% great. and in 06 they redesigned the clamp. i think i would go for the 1, but if i wanted to be different the 3. the 2 is too curvy it looks odd to me

              I have the #2 tower, Titan, on my 210 and absolutely love it. I like the FCT1 as well, but the titan is so light and easy to fold down and the other is too heavy. Plus, the Titan will fit in a standard 7' garage, and you can't go wrong with polished stainless steel.

              I won't comment on the new tower until I see it in person. I'm not a fan of the design or the fold height, but the new bimini is cool.

                i have a 3some on mine so if i were to fold it it would weigh one **** of alot. if you hate yours, ask your dealer if they'll hook you up with a used fct2 for just price diff and labor, but if they mount differently you'll have to pay to have your old fct1 remounted to their boat.

                  Love the 1... Flight Clips + Spinners on them, all original and therefore holding 8 boards... And this tower is rock solid...
                  Never a real fan of the 2 and still have to see the 3th, but that one can be interesting... Only no room for additional boardracks....

                  You can change the tower, like gride said. Some extra cash and labor. The holes can be filled and not visible anymore...

                    The reason we always go for the fct1 is that we always powder coat the tower to make our boats as custom as we can. also like the look better over the other two.

                      My neighbor was quoted around 4K to change out his FCT1 to a 2 on his 07 210. This was assuming that he didn't resell his FCT1. I love my FCT1 with over the tower bimini for the headroom. The tower is solid with no rattle. Having said that...if I had to fold the tower frequently...FCT2 its the way to go. FCT3 hasn't grown on me yet and the over the tower biminis on this tower look odd to me. The cargo racks/biminis look cool and seem functional, but don't offer much headroom.

                        i didnt know you could go over the top w/ a fct1 what's the shade like compared to the old style? i kinda like the cockput feel. i would just get a different tower whenever you get a new boat.

                          helenewbold, can you post a pic of your FCT1 bimini over? I'd like to see that too. I'll probably get a new bimini in the spring,...would be cool to check that out...

                            Are we all on the same page here? FCT 1 was offered on Correct Crafts in 98 and 99. It was a singele piect tower, and you had to fold down the entire tower. It was strong, functional, and the first OEM tower in the market place, but I've never heard anyone refer to it as stylish?

                              Picture of my FCT1 with over tower bimini in the Show Us Your Nautique forum under 08 210 SANTE. 2nd picture is better than 1st.

                              My understanding of FCTs:

                              FCT1 = only tower available on correct craft boats for all years up until Titan Towers came along
                              FCT2 = Titan Tower
                              FCT3 = Roswell Tower

                              Maybe this is inaccurate?
