Well, I'm not the authority, but for years, we referred to the 98-99 towers as FCT1 or 1st generation FCT. The FCT2 or second generation came out in 2000.

Then, an FCT with a rounded base came out on the 211s and 226s, not positive, but I believe that was in 2002. This FCT with a rounded base bar was also used on the 210s in 2004 but was not well recieved. It seems that everyone referred to the rounded base towers as FCT2 as well.

Late 2005 CC introduced yet another style of FCT on the 220. In 2006 a very similar tower was also placed on the 210. In my mind, this was the third generation of FCT, but I'm not sure what terminology CC is using. The titan tower could also be ordered as an option.

In 2008, the Titan was apparently sold as an "FCT" and this year, the Roswell is apparently being sold as an FCT.

To me, the Titan and Roswell towers aren't CC towers, but that's just me. An old dog resistant to change. I'm sure to most the Titan and Roswells are CC towers because they are offered are offered as OEM equipment through CC.

If I missed some detail in here, I'm sure someone else will chime in and correct me. BKH

Actually I believe BKH is correct,

FCT1 = 98'-99' as described above by BKH, see pic of our old 99'.
FCT2 = 00' and beyond, the tower we currently have on our 206, see link below and pic.

Beyond that I am not sure if numbers are assigned, in 06 or 07 there was a larger/longer version of the FCT2 + the Titan towers were offered, in late 08 or 09 the new "Z" shaped tower was introduced, perhaps that is a Roswell and is referred to as FCT3? Don't believe a Titan is referred to as a FCT.

^^^You're right, FCT1 is that first single piece skinny tubed design. FCT2 is Y2K design (my personal favorite). I would personally not refer to the 2004 year or the round base designs as FCT2 --- they are significantly different. To me, the round base design is FCT3, and the newest is FCT4. Also, I don't refer to the Titan designs as FCT simply because everybody calls them Titan. My $0.02.

My understanding is that the FCT1 is the one piece tower (as stated before) - all the versions there after are FCT2 (mid folding design)
The new Roswell made "S" curve style is the FCT3
Titan towers are just that - a Titan

If you go to correct craft web page one will see that fct1 is the 2005 shape the fct2 is the titan and the fct3 is the roswell.

I am going with the FCT2 Titan on my new boat. Does anyone know the tube diameter on this tower?

              Robert is right.

              FCT1 is the classic shape. 2000-2003, 2005.
              FCT2 is the Titan.
              FCT3 is the Roswell.

                ^^^^Pretty good source of info

Then what do you call the original non-folding design?

FCT1, it was just the first gen.

Really before 2008 there was just FCT with different generations. The FCT followed by a # wasn't around until you had a choice of tower.

Clearly there is a difference in terminology here where we are talking about specific design differences from year to year since 1998 and what CC is using as optional towers on new 2009 boats. Through many threads on this site, the design changes in 2000 have consistently been referred to as the second generation FCT. Maybe this is the appropriate breakdown:

                    FCT1 Gen 1 - 1998-1999
                    FCT1 Gen 2 - 2000-2003
                    FCT1 Gen 3 - 2004
                    FCT1 Gen 4 - 2005 to current
                    FCT2 - Titan
                    FCT3 - Roswell

                    Thoughts?

Interesting topic, another thought is the FCT varies more with certain models, with the 206 as an example, don't know of any significant differences to the tower being used from 09' back to the original Gen 2 in 00' as referred above. As another example the 210 has had many different variations or Gen's over that same time period.

Maybe not considered a FCT but anyone remember the Spyder tower on the Ski Nautiques/196's, IIRC they were only available a couple years, maybe 99'-00'?

I think GoBig is exactly right...pretty much what I said previously, but with further clarification of the different generations of the FCT1.

I think your right about that. I snowmobile in the winter but I think I would rather see it all the snow go so I can get out on the water. 4 months to go lol :x

                              My understanding of FCTs:

FCT1 = only tower available on correct craft boats for all years up until Titan Towers came along
                              FCT2 = Titan Tower
                              FCT3 = Roswell Tower

                              Maybe this is inaccurate?

Anyone know of any possibilities for swapping/trading/purchasing from an FCT to a Titan tower on a 226? Other than buying new from a dealer for approximately $4000 or so.
