Where to find a late model 2001 glove compartment?

I recently purchased an '85 SN 2001 that I am looking to upgrade a few parts on. I would like to install a deeper and covered compartment like the ones on the '88 and '89 SNs. Anyone know where to find one of these?

I don't know about the box itself, but I'm pretty sure you can still source the lid ($$). Might try calling midwestCC to see if they have an assembly....you never know.

IMO, though, you'll pay a lot for very little. With the radio in the 88/9 box there isn't much room for anything else. We get a couple cell phones and an iPod in ours and that's about it. Ever thought about trying to build one from scratch? I'm gonna try to build a larger box this spring when I re-do my rear speaker pods.

Thanks for the help. The only reason I want one is to put a radio in it. I can't really find a good place other than in a bigger console for a radio to be mounted in this boat. Any ideas?

BTW, I will definitely post pictures as soon as I'm over the flu!

          mine

Removed the old style "box" and took some measurements...dont remember what they were. Took some old wood layin around and made up a box. I also had to remove the foam from the underside of the dash then just kept test fitting it and removing more foam till i got the size i wanted.

You could def put a stereo in there and then wire up a remote by the dash...i wish thats what I did. My head unit is constantly getting wet and shutting off till it dries out. I gotta come up with a custom cover as most marine covers are too big to fit in the area that i have my stereo.

          Goodluck!
