General fuel consumption for 502 Python

I thought that I would post a general fuel consumption for my boat since we went for a "polar bear run" on New Year's day, and I filled it up before the run, and then refilled it today.

I had 8-9 people on the boat, plus one doing something, so 9 for ~30 minutes, then 8 for the rest of the run. I put a total of 2.0 hours (using the hour gauge), and used a total of 10.6 gallons of fuel.

We surfed (4 sets), wakeboarded (6 sets), and slalomed (1 set), and most everyone on board was "full sized" guys, so guestimate 2,000 pounds in people and gear (almost everyone with their own board, vest, etc.). I think the way we used the boat was probably pretty representative of how most people use their boats, we cruised 10 minutes to pick up people, rode for ~2.5 hours (time on the boat, not always running), and then dropped people back home, then me solo bringing the boat back to the ramp to take it out.

    FWIW.

Happy New Year everyone, hope all of you have a great 2009!

Jack - what was the water temp and what lake did you go to? I bet that water was a bit nippy! I took my last ride on Nov. 1st up at Lake Gaston, with the water at 54 degrees and air at about 60. I only had my spring suit on - my testicles finally dropped back down around Thanksgiving. Can't wait until April/May to roll around.

We were on Mountain Island near Charlotte, water temp 46, air temp ~40-42 degrees, definitely the COLDEST for me ever! It was fun, and it took me a day to recover, even after the apres hot tub session!
