SV-211 Ballest Tanks

Anyone that has the ballest tanks on a SV-211 please let me know how much difference they make in your wake. I am considering adding the two back tanks. My dealer said that the center tank on the 211 didn't make much difference and he suggested going with the two rear tanks only. I would like to know from someone who has a Team Edition if they agree with that or not.

Hmm... That sounds odd to me. I know that in the 210, if the center tank isn't filled and the rear tanks are, the bow is so far up in the air that it is very difficult to drive. I don't have any direct experience with the 211 doing that, but i would GUESS that it might do the same thing. Who did you talk to? Ken? I suppose he would know.

I was talking to the guys at White Lake Marine. They said that due to the shape of the 211 hull the stock center ballest tank didn't really make much difference.

Jeff is spot on with the 210. I don't have the center tank and when I fill the rear tanks she porpoises something terrible!

I would recommend finding someone with a demo available and try it out. Have them fill the rear tanks and drive it for a distance and see what you get. If they don't have a center tank that will allow you to compare the difference you could always bring along a buddy to sit in the middle.

If I were you, I would get the rear tanks (they are flat instead of wedged) and then get a fat sack to put in the ski locker. That boat has so much storage in it even with the rear tanks that you probably wouldn't be missing out too much on the storage space in the locker.

Well, I have the SV211 TE. I have not filled just the rear tanks when wakeboarding. I have always filled all three. Therefore, I cannot comment directly on your question. I won't be out again for a couple of weeks, but will try it out then. (My guys are still little and we do not always even fill the ballast).

My gut instinct would be to purchase all 3 tanks. It is nice to keep the ski locker available. We seem to always have enough stuff to fill all available space!

Hi Fatboy - here's a pic of my 211 running full factory ballast (back and front). This shot is at 20mph with two adults and two small children in the boat. The wake is 24 - 26 inches at 70 ft.

I've had 7 adults in the boat w/ full ballast - the swim platform was 3-4 inches below the waterline in the back and the wake was absolutely huge!

Weather permitting I'll have my boat out tomorrow night (Tuesday), so I'll let you know the difference in wakes....

I will get a second opinion for you. I had it out on the 3rd of July with about 7 or 8 people and all ballast about 23-24 mph, rope was at 85' I believe. This boarder has been runnign behind 210TE's for years and liked the boat and wake as well or better than the SANTE.
