    New Tower on Old Boat

I was looking at getting a new style nautique 220 tower installed on my '92 BFN vdrive. I was wondering if anyone had any pointers or lessons learned from personal projects. The base is about 8"-10" too wide from what I've been told it will have to be re-bent to fit. If anyone has thoughts on difficulty, integrity or appearance, let me know so I can try and decide whether I'm going to tackle this winter project.

I would be really worried about a tower that has been re-bent. I don't think it will be near as stong as factory!

with a 10" swing, I think you'll need 5" of tubing cut out on each side of the pylon support and reweld.

Personally, I think the 220 tower will look bulky on your BFN. I would thinkg a 2000-2005 FCT would meld better with the boat. Obviously, personal taste, and I could be wrong. BKH

do not rebend anything, like bk said, it will have to have sections cut out and then rewelded.

I do not see any way that you are going to be able to get part or all of a tower into a bender to adjust it. You need to look for something that either fits or go with the cutting method as mentioned previously.
