What do you think our 99 SNOB is worth?

Hey, Anyone want to chime in on opinions on what our 1999 SNOB is worth? Here are the particulars:
    -GT40, (134 hrs!...yep only 134) Perfect condition
-DHM single axle trailer custom black to match w/swing away and spare tire
    -Teak platform of course
    -Single line PP
    -bimini
-custom sunbrella cover and bow snap cover as well.
-factory extended pylon as well as standard pylon
**not a scratch on this boat. You can see some pics in "todda gallery"

Thanks for anyone's opinion! My wife and I are considering making some room in the garage. I know that if I sell this, I will kick myself for it...but, we have access to the club Nautique at the private lake we ski...

I'd say 19-20K. And, you will regret it!

I agree. If you want garage space, add on!

I wish I had the ability to add on to our garage, but of course we live in one of those neighborhoods where they build lot line to lot line. The only reason we considered it is we have a 2 yr old and a 9 week old, and probably won't be using the boat much in the next year or two. When we are back on the water more, I am wondering if we aren't going to move up to a 206 for the extra space...of course THAT won't fit in the garage though! Stupid builders...when or if we ever build, the 3 bay garage (with 10' doors) is going to be a minimum 30' deep!

I say keep the boat and get an indoor storage unit to keep it in because you will regret getting rid of the boat once it's gone. Having access to the club boat is all well and good, but who else is going to want to use it at the same time as you and your family do?

We started taking our youngest daughter on the boat on a regular basis when she was 4-months-old. She hated her vest at first, but then she got used to it. Plus, every time we got in the boat, she fell asleep, not matter what was going on around her. Now we can't keep her out of the boat...she's 5 now.

Agree on the probable move up to a 206...once you go family, kiss the CB goodbye (or at least get a second Nautique). Still say you're gonna miss it. I didn't get my first until mine were 5 and 3, and wish I had started earlier.

I agree you'll eventually want to move up as well, however do it at the same time you're selling the SNOB so you don't go without a boat.

Yeah BKin, our daughter (2) loved the boat this last summer, just didn't get to use it near enough. Here is a pic of our daughter driving...as long as she can drive straight through the course, she can drive anytime!

Keep it. I disagree with the statement that we have to sell a piece of family recreation due to an addition in the family. My oldest boy (5 now) was in the boat at 2 weeks, and started skiing at 3. His younger brother not to be outdone was in a tube with dad at 1.5 and started skiing at 2.5, our third now 1.5 weeks is going on the boat as soon as ice out. The older two absolutely love the water and talk about being on the lake more than any toy, tv show, or video game. The 5 year old still crys every time we leave the lake for home each weekend. You are creating memories for your kids that they will keep for a lifetime. I say if anything should go its the Wii, Playstation 3, and the Disney Channel, but that's just me.

                      Todda,

Another spect is the economic one. You are going to take a huge whack selling the boat right now. And then, right about the time you want to buy a different boat, we will have turned the corner and you will pay more than you needed to on the boat. I bet selling it now costs you $12-15k unnecessarily after you replace it.
Families love boats, kids love boats, kids friends love boats, and you can have a great time on it even if you aren't riding as much as you want for a year or two. I got my first boat when my daughter was one and my son was nearly four. We always went out.
Just keep it, you will kick yourself if you don't.

My dad bought his first boat when I was 18 months old.

We've never been boatless since. He's 67 and has two. I'm 40 and have 1. My kids were 4 and 6 when we started boating.

I really do agree with everyone on here. The boat is paid for, and the only thing that got me thinking was a buddy offered me what I paid for it (24K)...

Our daughter already loves to be out on the boat, and even if we only put 3 hrs on her last year, o-well. I have been blessed to get to ski at a private lake, so I get my slalom sets in even if it isn't behind our boat. I think we will be keeping her for right now, but I really do appreciate all the advice!!

If you've got an offer of 24K for a 10 year old SNOB, in any condition, IMO you'd be a fool not to take it. Take the 24K and run, then move up at least 5 model years on your next boat with minimal additional investment. 24K would probably be a market record for that boat.
