This comes up occasionally in various threads but thought I'd post it directly. Fisher's hate skier's, skier's hate boarder's, almost everyone hates tubers. NOT.
What people hate are any of the inconsiderate of the above. The regular users of our lake are varied, but everyone tries to respect everyone else. Depending on wind and direction there may be one or two places to slalom (and that only maybe 2 days per week) and the boarders and tubers generally avoid those. Actually, the tubers almost always stick to the middle where it's always too choppy to ski. I mostly slalom and we try to avoid the fishermen as best we can. None of this costs anyone very much and significantly increase the enjoyment for everyone. Once in the local pub I was even tempted to buy a round for all the tubers and boarders who stayed out of coves, however I knew there were 4 boats on the lake that day doing so, but there'd be 30 in the pub who'd swear they were.
The problems come mostly on the weekends and sometimes during the week with yahoo's who don't get this and run S's with tubers in the calm coves (seems like it's never a CC though :-). I'm guessing these are the cousins of the oblivians who drive in the left lane on the highway and won't move to the right even when there are 10 cars lined up behind them flashing their lights.
