    Side sacks in a 88 SN 2001

I just started using two Fat boys as side sacks in my 2001. The wake is awsome but my engine box is getting all squished in from the sacks. Does anyone have nay ideas for ways to reinforce the box? Should I just deal with it and hope nothing gets damaged?

See my post about fat sac boxes. Not only will these boxes allow you to sit or stand on them, but they will keep the sacs off of your engine box as well.

I'm not sure if my boat is as deep as yours. This still might be my best bet. What are the rough deminsions on those boxes and how much did it end up costing?

Nauti that box really is sharp. I've got a 82 2001 and think that would be an ideal addition to the back of my boat. got any specs you can share?

I can't really remember the specs off the top of my head. When I made the side boxes I filled up a sac in my garage and built the first one around it. I did however make sure that they would fit in my boat first.

The side boxes are pretty much two sides and a top. To support them I ran a 2x4 on the bottom from end to end only on one side. The other side remains open (this way I can slide them over the sac after it has been filled). The side with the 2x4 goes towards the engine box. To get the box over the filled sac you have to reach underneath and pull the sac over to one side while sliding the box down. Once down the sac rolls back over the 2x4 along the bottom which helps to hold the box in place. The 2x4 gives support while keeping the sac off of the enigine box.

I built the side boxes out of scrap plywood I already had. The carpet (low quaility) was $7 a roll at Wal-Mart. It only took one roll to do both side boxes. The stern box was a little more intricate. I spent around $60 on materials to build the box and a buddy of mine custom made the cushion for me at a cost of $80.

I have two 750 Big Bumps. I ordered their sac covers and they have straps that allow you to restrict the circumference of the sac. This prevents stress on the motor box.
