I have a 93 Sport with a Monster tower and am in need of a replacement cover. What brand cover do you guys recommend? I'd like a cover that will allow me to cover the boat with the tower up, but that's not a deal-breaker.

RE: Which brand of boat cover?
Find a local shop and have a custom one made they are more expensive but fit much better and last a lot longer Mine on my 2000SAN was about 70000 SAN 210 (previous boat)

I have to agree with that. I had bought a cover for my last boat. Spent big bucks figured I was getting the best of the best. Here it didn't fit the specific tower on my boat. And to top it off "sorry no returns" so it had to go to the upholster regardless. She said it would of been much easier just to start from scratch.2008 SANTE 210 Orange Baby! Current

I really like Carver covers. White Lake uses them for all the covers on their new Nautique inventory. They are using a very light weight material now that I prefer to Sunbrella. Buy the cover for your 93 Sport, measure and mark the holes for the tower and then carry it to the upholster shop to be altered. My uncle just had one done and it turned out great.

I ordered a cover from Brent at Coversports a little over a week ago. Should be receiving it around Friday. Will keep you posted.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

Hey aarond0083, do you know who White Lake uses for the cover? I actually have one of those covers and it has been awesome...until it snowed last night and tore a bunch of holes in it. I have no idea who makes it!?!? I sent an email to them today but I think they take Monday's off.
Anyone else know anything about it? The cover goes over the entire boat - bow to platform - with the tower down.2000 Air Nautique

You are correct. WL isn't open on Mondays.

RE: Which brand of boat cover?
It's canvas. I talked to David @ White Lake and he didn't remember who made it. He told me they're using Carver this year, which looks fine and may be what I get but Carver doesn't do side skirts.
I'll let you guys know what I end up with.2000 Air Nautique

Thanks for all of the input. As suggested, I'm looking in to purchasing a cover and taking it to un upholstery place and having them customize it to fit my tower. Seems to me like that'd be cheaper than having one custom made. Something about the word custom always translates to expensive.
I'll have to look into the Carver Covers. Never heard of them before. A google search didn't get me very far. Mostly stuff from Overton's.
My boat came with a cover, but it doesn't fit very tightly with the tower folded down and it doesn't cover the platform, which I'd like it to do. Currently the boat is in my garage, but I'm getting tired of having to climb over it, so once it warms up I'm going to test my luck with storing it in the driveway.
JChamlin - looks like that unexpected snow wreaked some havoc on your cover. Atleast you didn't have a tree fall on it. Our neigborhood was covered with downed trees. What lake do you go out on?1993 Sport Nautique - SOLD 5/10

I usually go to Lake Wiley for general purpose stuff, wakeboarding, etc. I have skied on the slalom course on Davidson Lake a bunch (past the Davidson Exit), but I didn't go at all last year.
Regarding the cover, see my comments in this post about Carver. 2nd page, 2nd post:

I had pretty much decided on the Carver cover but I'm now thinking about the coversport because of not needing poles or tie-downs. Carver uses some new material (or new to the marine world) and David at White Lake said they're using that for all their new boats (instead of sunbrella). It's lightweight, very water resistant, very breathable and it's cheaper than Sunbrella. It also goes bow to platform, which Rankin and coversports does not.2000 Air Nautique

My uncle just bought a cover from Carver for his I/O. It is made from the new material that David at WL was telling you about. It is a very nice cover and seems like it will hold up very well. I will be using the same cover on my 210 from WL as well. It is much lighter than a Sunbrella cover.

I emailed one of the local contacts off of the Carver Industries website to get a quote on the "Custom Cover" specifically for my '93 Sport and was very surprised at the cost. I was quoted $262.50 for the 11oz. Poly-Cotton Custom Cover (model 10606) and $289.64 for the Performance Poly-Guard Custom Cover (model 10606P). I was expecting the quotes to be somewhere in the $500 - $600 range based on all of the info I had read.
Do those prices sound right?1993 Sport Nautique - SOLD 5/10
