Under the steering behind the panel, what is this?

Okay so I'm a 1st time boat owner and bought a pre-owned 99 Air Nautique.

I removed the panel (which has a speaker on it) under neath the steering wheel (where your feet would touch while driving), and saw this coiled tubing rotted out. What is this for, how do I replace it and what do I ask for to replace it?

    Thanks

Looks like heater vent hose. Do you have a heater or defrost vents in your dash behind the windshield?
    Peace..

Im with tdc on this one. It looks a lot like the air ducting that goes from the windshield base down to vent the engine compartment.

Agree with TDC, that's the air intake hose that feeds the bilge/blower. I think you can just orde some 3" vent hose from skidim, or a race car place if one is handy...you could probably also get by with some dryer duct hose from Lowe's or HD...

I just replaced these exact same hoses on my 99 Air Nautique (behind the drivers side even). Skidim carries the hose at a good price. These are indeed air intake hoses that vent to the engine compartment. You may find that where the bottom connects you will be forced to use the stupid screws that pierce the hose instead of hose clamps due to the angled shape of the mounting area. I was able to get by with 3 clamps and only had to use the screws on the bottom nearest the driver. At any rate, if you do this, I would recommend also running a bit of electrical tape around that area as you will have weakened the hose by piercing it with the screw. Hose clamps really work far better when you can use them.

Check your blower hose in the engine compartment. Hopefully you don't find what I found.
