I sincerely hope they are doing okay. competition is a good thing in this industry, it's one of the reason why CC is on top of its game in my opinion

I am hearing that MasterCraft is carrying quite a bit of debt these days. I don't know what that means for the future of the company. I agree, though, that competition can certainly be a good thing.

I think MC is owned by Penske, so I'd think they have deep pockets.

2 Mastercraft dealers are out of buisness in my neck of the woods. The correct craft dealers in my area are still here and doing quite well, considering the economy.

I heard MC has a ton of unsold inventory maybe up to 3 years worth. I know the MC dealer near me
has 52 MC boats in stock nearly all are 07 and 08 models. That is between 3 stores but still a lot of
non current inventory. They still have the 08 boat show boat in stock. I talked to them at the 09 boat show
The boats are still top price and the only show discount was the Buyer Rewards Program. I almost bought a
X15 last year but couldn't agree on price. I then test drove the 210 and it was game over X15 didn't come
close for any price.

Before I purchased my new 196 last year, I priced out a Prostar 190 with my local dealership for comparison sake. I kid you not, they quoted a retail of $79k, with a selling price in the mid $60's (MCX, perfect pass, heater, etc.). To me anyway, it seems they're pricing themselves out of the market when it comes to the core slalom constituency. Of course, slalom boats aren't the bread and butter these days...

Nautique has a decent amount of non current inventory too. The local spot told me 4 weeks ago that there were 150+ nautique owned non-current inventory that they were trying to liquidate, but the prices on them were enought to move them pretty quick. I would be supprised if they were not 80% sold with some of the prices I was hearing.

That's nothing... And yes, the prices on the few that CC still has are good from what I have heard.

My new 08 210 is one of those close out boats all the 210s were sold in the first two weeks . I am not sure on other models but I think they are moving them. MC and
BU has a lot more inventory on hand its smart for CC to clear them out first.

Everyone of these luxury boat companies is in deep trouble. Same with any luxury item mfg. Correct Craft is not safe from any of this. I think it is reasonable to assume that with a new factory, limited edition boats, the Coastal boat, old inventory, etc, they have their own huge set of problems. Hopefully, they can weather it.

there is an 07 210 team for 42,950 on ebay. 64 hours w/ trailer. i've actually been to this dealer and they sell cars and nautiques. it's weird.

The MC dealership in my area has roughly...50+ boats sitting in their inventory. Pretty much the same thing for the Malibu dealership. When I bought my 236 in August of 08, there were only 7 2008 models to choose from in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. I think that is down to 3 or 4. Not that CC is unscathed but they seem to be better positioned in the market vs MC/BU...overall quality, model variation, inventory control, and pricing methodology. The minute CC starts massively wholeselling or price dropping that is the first sign of poor business planning.

I actually like the move they have made with the coastal edition and sticking to higher end boats. They may sell fewer models but they can retain value/profitability on what they sell. If you look at the methodology for the 2009 year, it would seem to me they are incurring incremental manufacturing costs for more inovative products and access to the salt water sport market.
