i think mastercraft has been too proud of the wake behind the x star to think about the business side of things. IMO they deserve to go out of business for treating me the way they did. i know it's techincally not the company but instead the dealer but like mamma told me "guilty by association"

Which dealer? Rambo? They were always great to deal with when I was a MC owner.

I think we need to direct ourselves back to gride's post and stock up on stones.

Has anyone seen Mastercraft's new (i think it is called a 330) boat they recently unveiled? It is a closed bow crazy looking boat. With the amount of money they probably spent designing this I find it hard to believe they are closing their doors. Check out mastercraft's website, it is a strange looking boat coming from an inboard ski boat company.

I wonder how many 09 boats CC has on order and if they over-manufactured this year. Back in April 08, I ordered my new 210 and the CC factory only had two 07 model 210's left at the factory to blowout. Depending on how many 08's got carried over into inventory this year, I think CC is in fine position.

As for Mastercraft, I don't see where the higher list pricing is coming from. Their build quality is still below that of CC's. It seems like they are trying to steal the most "prestigious" boat builder award by asking astronomical retails.

Reputation earns the respect of the people, not price tags.

I spoke to the owner of my CC dealer at the LA boat show. He told me that MC has 3000+ boats of surplus inventory from the past couple/few years and BU has 2000+. He told me the MC dealer by me is still TRYING to sell some '05's. Not sure what models, but '05?!

At the same time, he told me that there are roughly 200 surplus Nautiques around the entire country. It appears CC has done a better job of managing their inventory, which should result in them being able to weather the storm significantly better than the other two.

Heard from a friend on the Promo program MC is cutting back heavily in that area.

I would think both Malibu and Mastercraft had to be hurt by the bankruptcy and closure of Coppe &McPheters/BoardersParadise. I know MC had pulled the dealership before they went bankrupt but losing all those dealerships had to hurt (Santa Clara, Santa Rosa, Fairfield, Rocklin, Tahoe, Reno, and I think there more). Those dealerships sold a lot of Mastercrafts and 'Bu's. On most of the lakes I went to you'd see boats from their dealerships. I know NorCal Mastercraft has picked up Nor Cal as a market but they don't seem to have the market BoardersParadise had. I think there is now more Correct Craft dealers here than there is Mastercraft.
