RE: Master Craft 300
Here's a bright idea, when the economy is tanking and people have stopped buying luxury items, lets bring in a team of people to design and build an even bigger and outrageously more expensive boat that goes way beyond our core competence as a company! Wow, that sounds like a great plan! Let's start making day yachts!
Absolutely brilliant.2003 SANTE

Heard Zane designed it!!!! Guess he needed some additonal lift. I just looked, you can get a 360 Coblat, who is in the business of making boat like that for 300K. Longer, deeper, wider. Size matters in the ocean!!!

Sweet car, yours? I've been looking at them. Waiting to see if I can pick up a year end model. Missing the "Nautique" Sticker.

All these mfgs need to wake up. The same can be said for Correct Craft and the Coastal boat, too, regardless of it being a ton less money.. Now is the time to stem the bleeding. None of the companies are going to survive unless they buckle down in a defensive position, and get both a short and long term strategy to do so. I hate to see any of them fail, really, but that is the reality here. I was alluding earlier about the Byerly boat sales. Correct Craft may say they have sold a ton of them, but the number they provide is going to be to dealers as part of the program. I am under the impression that fewer than 6 of the 73 have actually been sold. They need to continue to firesale all their inventory and show liquidity if possible. Not just 07's & 08's.
Dealer's need to do stupid skinny deals and probably bend the rules to stay afloat, if you will. They are going to get crushed with finance charges and many more of them will be unable to pull themselves out.
I am astonished daily that no one saw these times coming, not one of these businesses had an executive scratch their head and say "What happens if the good times stop today?" Certainly that is the case with nearly every business and market today, but it is someones job to have a contingency plan.
Sorry for the rant. I am ornery today.the WakeSlayer

RE: Re: RE: Master Craft 300
I've heard that the X-80 is selling very well in places like Dubai. It was the whole reason behind designing the 300. I'm willing to bet when they started designing the 300 the market was booming. It takes a while to design a boat like that one. I agree that they need to stop raising the prices of boats. It's like the new Axis boat. I think that BU did a decent job with it but they could have made it 10k cheaper and they would have sold them like crazy, even though 45k is not bad for a brand new 22' picklefork wake boat.
