I've got a 1998 Air Nautique, 21' long and was looking for some opinions on a towing vehicle. I'm toying around with getting a 2001 Dodge Dakota with the V8 & towing package and was wondering if this truck would be enough to pull a 21' boat. I think the towing weight on this truck is around 6500-7000 pounds. the lake i go to is only 15 miles away and maybe once or twice a summer i'll hit a lake 2 hours away. Any opinions would be great!

RE: towing question
Yes, it would be fine. I tow my 99 Air with a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder V6 that is rated at towing 6000 pounds. I have towed this boat from Lake Tahoe, to Iowa and to Texas. I have loaded it in and out of water several times. I have never had a problem towing the boat (with the tow vehicle that is). The truck you describe should have no problem towing your boat. Now
