    bow weight

Just got finished up plumbing in fly high sacs on top of the factory tanks in my (2004) 210. My question is how much weight are you guys running in the bow to clean the wake up? I am using the factory center tank, but I'm sure I will need alot more in the bow to level this thing out.
    Thanks

    RE: bow weight

i run the integrated bow sac under the front seat in my 01 and it is perfect. It probably only fills up between 300-400lbs because of the tight space. I have a custom sac that fills up the whole ski locker, probably around 800-1000lbs and 750's in the back. You should be good with about 400 in the nose.

      RE: bow weight

the integrated sac is what i have, but my friend has the full bow sac about 1000lbs. they both work, but i think the 1000lb is cheaper, and you dont have to fill it all the way up. we both have 05 210's, run wedges in the back and factory ballast with either bow sac. the integrated sac is cool b/c if you have a bow filler cushion it makes a nice seat to stretch out on, watch the rider and enjoy the beverage of your choice.

400# seems to be the magic number for my 04. It really depends on what your goal is though. If your just trying to get the boat to plane out and not porpous, you can get away with slightly less (around 240#). If your looking to mellow out the tranny for a more ramp-like wake, then 400+ should be your goal. Any more than 600# and you really have to watch out against dipping the bow.

For reference, I have flat tanks with plumbed sacs in the rear, belly tank and 400# in the bow (240 lead and 160 plumbed bow sac). The wake shape is very close to stock, just a whole lot bigger.

Great guys thanks. I have been looking to get a bow sac and plumb it in but I really don't want to start cutting on that front cooler. There is really no space to put much weight up there under the seats if you don't . So I guess if 400lbs is magic number with the weight that I am running elsewhere I guess I could just throw a sac on the bow cussions. I wish I could get 400 under the seats but I have to weight with water because i trailer and I wouldn't want to damage my trailer. Or would 400lbs really matter with a dual axle trailer?

I've been trailering 360# of lead in my boat for four years. When I trailer I have two 60# bars in the rear, 2 in the middle, and two in the bow. Most of the weight is over the axles. When I ride I slide the two bars from the middle to the front (in the walk through). When I surf, I slide the same two bars to the back and to one side. I have a small bag plumbed in the bow, which holds around 20 gallons (160bls). It fits under the center cushion.

I haven't noticed any problems trailering the additional weight, but like I said, most of the weight is over the axles. I'm sure they can handle an extra 240#. I wouldn't feel comfortable keeping all 360# in the bow, as it would directly increase the tongue weight by 360#. Most tow hitches are rated at 500#. I think you would be exceeding that rating with an additional 360# of lead. Not to mention when everything is empty, 360# in the bow funks up the handling and makes it hard to keep the bow dry.
