What hull type

I am looking at buying a Nautique (first one) and just doing some research into a couple that have caught my eye. I am looking for a crossover boat as half the crew slalom and the other half board. Not competition standard or anything but we enjoy good wakes. The boats we are looking at are a 2000 sport and 2002 sport, the 2000 is in better condition. They both have the GT40 engine and towers. No fixed ballast but that doesn’t bother us too much.

My questions are:

What type of hull does the 2000 sport have is it the TWC or TSC?
Does it produce a good wake for skiing?
Are they stable / weight sensitive in the water?

Are the hulls on both the 2000 and 2002 the same, if not what are the differences?

I have looked at the brochures on these models and can’t find a definitive answer so I’m hoping someone here can help out.

Hi,
2000 and 2002 sports are the same hull, they put out a decent slalom wake, and can put up a good wakeboard wake with some extra ballast. As for the hull designation, they are not TWC (these are "Pro Airs, I have one), and they may well be called TSC, but not positive about that. All of these older hulls tend to be a bit sensitive from side to side because of the relatively narrow beam. Overall, for a crossover boat, this one is hard to beat, I would say that it's a little better slalom boat, but certainly many on this site enjoy the wakeboard wake behind these.

On the 2000 boats, watch for the digital gauges, those are known weakspot, I think they may still have had those on the '02's but maybe they were warrantied by then?

The Sport in that year range will be either a TSC or TWC hull, The TWC hull will have lifting strakes running bow to stern, generally you only find that hull on "Pro" Air's, would avoid the TWC hull based on your needs as it is geared more towards wakeboarding.
The sport with a TSC hull has a nice slalom wake, very skiable. The table is a bit hard for footing but not terrible. The hull will also throw a decent wake for boarding, we had the factory 400lb ballast and that was all we ever used, not a big fan of "adding ton's of weight".
Any straight inboard will be very stable in the water and track well, as far as weight sensitive, if you have 6 or 8 people in the boat it will handle different, a bit more sluggish but you will still feel very much in control.
