    230 vs. X-30

Ok gang I need your help...pull me back from the edge! After watching and waiting I'm finally ready to take the plunge. There are some excellent deals out there right now for left over 08's. I had convinced myself that the 230 was the boat for me but my wife talked me into a test drive of a MC X-30, and I've got to admit it's a nice boat. I have negotiated an awesome price on a 230 but think that I can get a slightly better price on the X-30. And my wife thinks the MC looks sexier (kind of embarrassed to admit that). Talk me out of going for the MC...give me some good hard facts.

BTW, our top 4 watersports are wakeboarding, wakeboarding, wakeboarding and surfing.

Tell your wife that the sexy ones always get ugly - The ones that are built with absolute quality rather than sexy in mind hold their value longer with less problematic issues.

Reach down in your pocket and what do you feel? Grapes or grapefruit? You make the decision and get the 230!

i've gotta go with the warranty as well. whenever there was even the slightest issue with our 220, it was covered. no questions asked. no bitching, moaning and crying. covered.
i haven't been on here long enough to know whether or not it is pc to ask how good of a deal you'll be getting on your 230. we're looking for a 230 (or maybe a 210, but leaning towards the 230) and would love to see what everyone else is paying.
and the grapes or grapefruit comment is classic!

x-30's are a joke when it comes to handling and they suck the gas too

                RE: 230 vs. X-30

My good friend has an 07 X30 and he is basically the reason that I have a wakeboard boat. Being pulled behind his brought me back to it. But when I shopped for boat MC was never an option. He has had many many problems out of his boat. He has to beg the dealer to get stuff done under warranty that are warranty items. His boat also drank a ton of gas! I went with the Nautique and am much happier! I love mine and I guarantee this summer we will spend much more time on my boat than on his. Since having my boat I have had no real issues. A couple of tiny things that the dealer covered under warranty with no questions asked! After only having my boat for 6 months and only using it 3 times, I can already tell you I WON'T own anything else!

Your screen name is nautique-dreamer - stop dreaming and buy a Nautique. Ok other reasons: Warranty, PCM, quality, ZERO OFF, ZERO OFF, drive the 30 with the tanks full and really drive the boat. MC in trouble. Being shamed on this website.

Do the people on here seem to love CC or are they all bitching and moaning about problem this and quality issue that (audio system excepted)?

Do all wakeboarders have this issue of needing help convincing their wives? Doesn't seem like skiers have this problem... :-)

Try to test drive both boats back to back. This will tell you which boat you prefer. Your opinion is the only one that matters as you will be forking out the money to buy it. When you test drive, bring your boards/ski and ride behind the boat. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes on wake shape at different speeds.
Don't be fooled by other comments here, both boats have warranty. There are poor MC dealers and poor CC dealers, just like every industry.
ZO is available on both boats, both boats run chevy engines (PCM and Indmar), MC makes their own trailers, CC has an array of trailers that you can get.

                      Good luck.

As others have said, drive both. I have never drove a 230 but when I bought my 220 in '06, I drove the X-30 and the difference was night and day in handling.

I love mastercrafts, and I love nautiques. both are excellent boats. All I can can add is that I used my new 236 (same as a 230) for the first time this year and i am blown away with what that boat can do. comfort, wake, surf. It really is a fine fine machine.

the wakeboarding wake with 1k on top of factory is just stupid. I cant wait to sack her out.

You should buy a 230, its simple Nautique/Correect Craft, build the best inboards on the market, hands down.
Nautiques have the best warranty, hands down.
Nautique uses PCM, best motor hands down, they both use a GM block, but that's it.

I have a 2007 236 Team and that boat is perfect for me. The X-30 is ok if you like the flakey metal crap. The only tuber I would look out would be the X-35 which has a much wider beam and rides nice. Still no comparison to the 230/236. I was in your camp 4 months ago and went with the 236. In my opinion the nicest wakeboard boat made. Until Cobalt decides to make a Wakeboard boat, there is only one choice.
                              Good Luck!
