Looking to get a Nautique, Can I tow with a v6 SUV?

I tow my '06 196 with a '98 Jeep Cherokee 4.0. It pulls just fine, but uses a share of extra fuel when towing down a highway. I'll be parting ways with it shortly if you need an inexpensive SUV. I'd sell it for $1,500.

I have an 89 Ski Nautique and tow with a 2000 Nissan Xterra - works good, but looking forward to getting the boat on my newer trailer which has brakes!
