I toured the plant on March 18, not knowing at all what had transpired the previous week, and I thought it looked a little sparse around there. Larry Shea, the customer service rep that walked us through the plant, mentioned that that layoffs had just occurred the previous week and that the mood around there was still pretty somber. They are all like family in the plant , and it was hard for the remaining to see the others go. Its a skeleton crew, but its the best of the best.
He mentioned that they were seeing anywhere from 3 to 5 starts a day, give or take, and everything was being built to order- no corp inventory sitting around. He also talked quite a bit about the training classes and community service volunteering that Yeargin had implemented for the slower times... its a very good thing and I was/am very proud to be a Nautique owner.
