However, not all of us are that fortunate. Yes, I could invest $464/mo from now until I am 65 and have $5.4 Million, but I wouldn't have all the sweet memories and good times with friends and family when I could do all that stuff.
exactly. sometimes it is more about the memories you create and not about how much cash you have in your account. i wouldn't trade these times with our children for anything!
Nautiquehunter - the point of my post was that the story makes no sense to anyone - especially those involved in banking/finance. Most/Everyone are jumping on the bandwagon of bash CC this and drive to get your boat that. How about we kill this post because the details are vague at best and the end result is that after whatever effort the buyer actually put into this - CC has stepped up and the issue, as for now, is resolved.
etwman are you in the tool business? To a point I agree with you Its important to save money
for retirement. I am as conservative as they come but our buying habits are pretty far apart.
It sounds like you don't see any value in new products you would rather pay cash for a used product.
I on the other hand I enjoy high end products sometimes I have to be creative to get them I never buy anything that will put me upside down in it. If I have 60k in the bank and buy a 60k boat I wound likely put 30k down and finance the rest that way my 30k stays in the bank and the boat will get payed off without risk of it not being worth what I owe. I do know this I would rather live a full life and end up retired just getting by. Than to live always settling for less never having the new one and always looking at cost and retiring with 5.4 million in the bank sitting there waiting to die. Don't let the dollar control your life when you die it wont matter how much you had in the bank. In the end the only difference is how nice a nursing home the family puts you in.
After 4 pages of all the great free advice we deserve many good pics when it arrives. Congrats on the new one and I can't say I blame you for getting upset.
Off topic, but NAUTIQUEHUNTER I see you just got a new one also. I see you are from Lowell, if you want a good place to ride early season that is not to far go to Clinton Lake IL it is just west of Champaign. We went last year in early April and the water temp was 80. It has a power plant on it. Just passing on the info because I know I would be going insane to get that first ride behind my new ride.

Thanks for the info New boat will go back to dealer in two weeks for boat prep and water test.
after that I will be yearning to get her broke in.
One last note on this and then I'm done with this thread. I think it is pretty amazing how CC handled this situation. There may have been some issues with responding to Aaron's initial calls. But remember, they just reorg'd and laid off 100+ people. I understand that maybe some roles got shuffled in the process. BUT, they read this thread, they contacted Aaron, and by all accounts are doing everything possible to resolve this immediately. Absolutely commendable!
Could you imagine companies like Sears or AT&T reading online complaints and following up personally with the customer to resolve the issue? Yeah right, that is just unheard of. I'm once again blown away by the Nautique experience, kudos Ron and CC!
And THAT is precisely why I said to contact Bill Yeargin, forgot about Ron to be honest, as Bill would kick butt and take names regardless of where the buck stopped.
Dealers don't remain dealers with shoddy customer care and service. Seven JD awards confirm that I should think.
Good luck buddy, sounds resolved to me.
Mike
I do not think of this is my dealer's fault. He can't make CC put a boat on a truck. Sure he can press them saying my customer is beginning to get upset and CC will take notice because they do want happy customers. Sure the intent of this thread was to vent a little because I was told my boat would be ready and it is not. Also, I wanted to see what others here thought of my situation.
I'm not here to bash my dealer, who I have a great relationship with or Correct Craft. Just trying to get this resolved, which now looks like it is going to happen because a manager read my thread.
I DO think it is your dealers fault. I haven't read this whole thread, but I will. Seems like your dealer could have contacted Ron or someone else on his own and had this resolved weeks ago. Your logic means the dealers hands were tied, but you got better results by posting on a private website.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad your problem is being resolved. But your dealer fell short on service.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Losing patience w. WRONG claims
The guy that handled my deal at the dealer was out all this past week with the flu. That didn't help the matter but the dealer did contact CC to get a shipping confirmation two days before it was supposed to arrive and never got a confirmation that it actually left. I am sure the downsizing at CC has a lot to do with my issue falling through the cracks. My problem was CC didn't deliver the boat when they said they would and when I tried to find out why I wasn't able to get my calls returned. All that matters now is that my issue is being resolved.
AMAZING customer service from Ron to read my thread and contact me on his vacation. No other manufacturer would do this and this is why I will never own any boat other than a Correct Craft.

No I’m not in the tool business. I’ll write this and leave it alone so not to derail this topic anymore. There’s little value in new things unless you have unlimited funds and are set for life. The average millionaire today (as quoted in several magazines and financial advisors) drives a two year old vehicle because they know for a fact new isn’t worth the money to buy new. That’s how he/she became a millionaire by realizing things like this. Here’s an example: On average a new vehicle (and boats are worse yet) valued at $28k you will lose$17k of value in the first four years you own it. To get the same result you could toss a $100 bill out the window each week will while driving it. So you buy new for the warranty. For the $17k loss you paid way too much for the warranty, you could have completely rebuilt the vehicle twice for $17k. Right now a five year old CC boat that holds 10 and paid for will work just as good as a new boat that holds 10 with payments. My family memories would be just as great in a 5 year old boat I'll assure you. Furthermore, you wouldn’t believe how good of a deal you can get right now on one if you flip down the checkbook on a used boat because those are the ones that can't afford the payments, let alone the boat. Remember a new boat will lose more value than a new one. A low interest rate? There’s no such thing, you’re paying someone money to carry that note for years on end.
“I do know this I would rather live a full life and end up retired just getting by.” Remember that quote when you’re 65 and living in that "new" boat, that’s not conservatism, that’s greed. And that folks is one of the reasons this country is in a mess. People say if no one used debt our economy would collapse, no it would prosper folks.
