Matthew & you other new Dads- Conratulations. It's a big responsibility but well worth it. Teach your children well how to boat. It's really cool when they can pull you! I have a 16 yr old & I can see the day coming when I don't even get to go along!

And that is why you encourage young kids to do something that requires a skill, besides just hanging on.
When she gets older, she is going to have a lot of fun being able to wakeboard much better than her boyfriends. (Much older)

My twin boys are scheduled to be induced on 4/17, I am sure they will be on the boat sometime this summer. It's going to be a bit more challenging with twins. Luckily I have a very capable sister to join my wife and I so we have a ready made boat crew. I expect we may spend a little time with BKH too!

Congratulations again, everyone!!! It's such an awesome opportunity we have to share this with our children and give them a gift of a lifetime (or many for that matter.) I always loved that I got to do all the things I did when I was a child, which really shaped me into who I am today.Travis Fling

Thanks for all of the replies -- very, very helpful stuff here. And congrats to you other parents, too.
Looks like I can feel good about getting my little girl out boating this entire summer, even if we just float and get her used to the sounds of the boat and water. I was lucky to have the opportunity to begin skiing at a young age behind starcraft 15-foot tri-hull with a 75 evinrude. I can still picture the huge clouds of smoke that engine produced at start-up, but couldn't have cared less because I would hang on to the ski rope until my dad had enough and eventually just killed the engine so someone else could go. Can't wait to experience that same thing with my girl, although she will have a slight upgrade on some of the equipment. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:
Thanks again.2007 SN 206

We have had our boy out since he was <5months. I can't say enough good things about this infant vest:

He would not wear anything else without pitching a fit. Also, he could wear this in his carseat without being strapped in. He just turned 18 months and we are dryland training him on a ski skimmer for this summer.
Also, he just compeleted ISR training. Check it out:

Happy boating!
