    Gator Grip or something similar

I would like to add something to the back of my boat (same as wakejunky) to protect the transom from dings.

My first choice is to put the Gator Grip on but I have not had any success in getting the product ordered. I have contacted wakejunky via PM & phone but have received no response and the website will not let me order directly (it times out).

Does anybody have any other options? I looked at putting a teak transom saver on the platform but it would interfer with my cover snaps.

Does anybody know of a similar product?

    Thanks
    SocBum

What about something like this: https://secure4.websitecomplete.com/...od.asp?prod=85

I don't exactly what they are selling, but the 3M product sold as an invisible bra for automobile applications would most likely work fine! See here: http://www.3m.com/us/auto_marine_aer...ages/ppf.jhtml

Another alternative that I've seen. Haven't tried either so I can't comment on either.

        Socbum:

I have some extra gator grip from my order. I don't know how much you need, but I think I have a strip about four-to-five feet in length by about four inches high. I would be willing to give it to you if you want to pay for shipping.

Dr J -- Using an invisible shield? hmmmm I wonder if I can fax them my money as payment. Just kidding. It just might work.

Jeff -- Thanks for the link! The Hydro turf looks about right.

Brick -- Check your PM. The quantity is just right, I want to run a 3" - 4" strip across the transom right along the deck. Did you use the Gator Grip on your '04 SAN?

I should of mentioned in the previous post. Has any one heard from wakejunky?

Socbum, got your message and yes it is black-on-black. I used it on my last boat just above the platform. It worked well. For my SAN, I'm thinking about doing the teak, but I'm keeping enough gator grip just in case I change my mind.

              brick,

If socbum doesn't take you up on that offer, I definitely will. I need some traction for the topside of my boat. Thanks and let me know. jwaterson14@hotmail.com

I put the Hydroturf on my new swim deck and it's great. I don't know how it compares to Gator Grip, but it looks good and feels good on the feet.

Chris is in trinity this week, he'll be back next week and I'm sure he'll fill your order quickly. Gator grip is the best stuff out there IMO. Try calling him monday.

Personally I don't like the low rider look of the black and white gator, although ymmv.

This is similar to what I was recommending although this one is over priced imho,

                          http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=26451 .

The strip of teak is an elegant solution also, it's just a little more problematic to install.

                            Dr John,

I like the black on black style that is posted on wakejunky's site. The black on white is a little to harsh for my taste. The gator grip is thick and looks like it will provide great protection. At first glance the invisble shield doesn't look thick enough to protect the transom.

I'm also going to lay some of the gator grip on the fenders of the trailer. The paint is starting to get scratched up from people stepping on the fenders and having rocks and sand on their feet.

I originaly looked at the teak or corrian transom saver, but my cover snaps would be blocked. I was also concerned about losing a couple of inches off of an already small platform.
