    02 sante---carpet?

    Hey guys,
I'd like to spice up my interior a little and I was thinking of replacing the OEM grey carpet with a black one. Here's a few pictures of the interior. do you took it would look good?
sorry for the crappy pics, they were taken last summer before I bought it.
also, how long should it take to do the entire boat (removing/installing)? I'm a general contractor here in Montreal and we do commercial work so I have a ton of carpet guys that owe me a favor or two...

    thanks in advance

My personal thoughts. Black will show dirt much sooner than a more neutral color.
I believe the carpet is the second major operation done to the boat when it is being made. The boat is molded, stringers put in, the floor finished, and then the carpet installed. The carpet is installed before the motor frame, the top deck, just about everything.
I am not saying you cannot replace the carpet, without totally disassembling your boat, especially since you are not trying to beat a flat rate, but just a warning it will be a little more complicated than you would think.

Don't forget all of your carpet lined storage compartments if you're changing the color these will need to be replaced also. Wrapping it up the side walls and wrapping the in-floor storage lid will be difficult to do and make it look good.

It might be cheaper and certainly easier to have a custom carpet liner made. Not only would it be easier to make, it would also allow you to take it out to clean.

Plus, black would get really really hot...especially on bare feet.
