The sticker is for the Coast Guard. If you're on a lake, more than likely the coast guard isn't there.

However, I wouldn't exceed it to much. I'd still pay heed to the weight requirement...

It's there for safety! You can probably print whatever you want and stick it on there, but that still doesn't make it safe. Where would you have 12 people sit?

Women are small not that hard to get twelve. our lakes always have cops on them checking us out. For safety guys are putting 2000 lbs of weight in their boat then having ten people on top of that I don't think its a big deal

The 08 210 is rated for 10 the 09 for 12 I don't think there is any difference in the boats so why the difference in capacity?

I do not believe it is just there for the Coast Guard. It is the maximum allowable for the craft at any time. Technically if you are running 1200 lbs of non factory ballast you cannot have a driver or anyone else in the boat. (using 1200 lbs for max riders and weight). You can get ticketed for exceeding either of the max allowable.

That being said....I highly doubt they are going to look under my hatches and try to figure out how much extra weight I'm running with all my fat sacs and plates.....add them together and then start weighing the three people on my boat. Am I over....heII yeah! Has there every been any problems............NO!

water pigs don't know how much ballast bags weigh. and you dont have to tell them the truth. i would not make a fake plate. sounds like a good way to get your boat taken away or something. have you ever had 10 people in your 210? it's not awesome.

The weight limit plates are a recommendation.

best answer for that is ask the patrol. Women and children take up a LOT less space, so mine is rated at 9 but I'd be willing to put 10-11 on it if half are responsible kids. It's a recommendation, but a strong recommendation. I believe the danger is in weight more than number of bodies.

that being said, I wouldn't fake it. More than likely the local patrol would know the capacity of the various boats...

                        ..

I've been pulled over with 14 in a 210. If you have life jackets and aren't doing anything "dangerous" then they can't do anything. The plate is a recommendation. It will give them a reason to mess with you a little more, but there is a limit on length when that number becomes a recommendation. I want to say it is 14 or 16' in Texas. Don't mess with the sticker. Just get educated on the laws in your area and that will be your best defense against the po po's

can't imagine it's that easy. Have to account for ballast and stuff (fishing boat vs. wakeboat?). That formula comes up with 12 for my 211, and film says 9. (new 211's say 10)
