    08 210 Ballast install

I'm curious if anyone on here as plumbed in any sacs to the factory setup on a 08-09 210. I am about to take on this project with 3 fly high sacs, and was wondering if anyone had pics or pointers to make this happen smoother. Thanks

    RE: 08 210 Ballast install

I did it on my 08 210. Sorry I don't have pics but it is very easy to do. It will prob take about 2 hours to do. Also I just helped Nautique210 do his 07. If you call up flyhigh they will email you directions on how to do the install. I would give them to you but I deleted them off the computer. Maybe PM Nautique210 and he will have them. We just did his boat 2 weeks ago. You will really enjoy having the extra ballast without the hassle of lead.

Thanks, which bow sac to you use? Did you put the integrated one under the seats? I was thinking about plumbing a tube sac down below in between the center tank, if the integrated won't fit.

I used the integrated under the seats. It works well. There is not enough room to fill it to capacity but I would guesstimate it holds about 400 to 500 lbs. I am not sure if a tube sac would work or not. I think you have to make sure the bag will drain into the factory tank somehow for it to drain properly.

Noti_Dad had some posts with pictures showing his install. I haven't done it, but from reading his post I believe he mentioned installing lengths of pvc pipe in the fatsacs to prevent the hard tanks from collapsing when draining. Since the hard tank and fatsac are hooked up in series, the hard tank will now depend on the fatsac to vent. The lengths of pvc placed inside the fatsac keeps air flowing throught the sac after it has drained thus allowing airflow to the hard taks while they drain.

            RE: 08 210 Ballast install

I did it on my 08 210. I put two lengths of pvc pipe (with holes drilled into them every few inches) into each sack because I was afraid of the sack collapsing as HS mentioned. I'm not sure it if helps or was worth the extra bother.

The install was easy...outside of messing around with the pvc pipes, it took a few hours and was well worth the money and effort. I didn't go with the sac under the bow seats--instead I put a tube sac in the "ski" locker because we wanted to save the under-seat areas for storage. I measured the space the locker sack takes up and calculated the weight...I think it came to about 230lbs.

              RE: 08 210 Ballast install

I don't have the pvc as mentioned above and have not had any problems with my system. I installed my system at the beginning of last summer and have 101 hours on my boat now so it has had plenty of use. I am not sure if it is worth the extra effort or not but thought I'd let you know my system works great. I do like the idea of having the tube sac in the locker though to save room for storage. I wonder if anyone has put a custom sac in there possibly the shape of a mushroom to get more capacity in the front sac.

Thanks, I am going to try and call Fly High to see if they would custom build a mushroom for the ski locker area, and just put a little lead in the bow.

Which is more time consuming, hooking up to the rear or the belly ballast? Is the belly vent hose pretty accessible, or a PTA?

The belly tank is a PITA. The rear tanks are pretty easy. I am sure you can get a mushroom sack made. I think there was someone on PN that did it for a 230. I will look to see if I can find it.

I just looked for those directions for you and couldnt find it in my email. I simply just called them and they emailed them within 5 mins. I can snap some pics one day if needed. Instal went smooth thanks to latonkaboarder. After riding his 210 and ours off and on last year, i told myself i was going to do the same setup. The wake is great. If you dont have a power prop, i would use the discount for delta on here 25% off asap. Looked all winter and that was by far the best deal. good luck

Here is what I came up with on measurements in the ski locker. I just sent a fax in to Fly High for a price quote on this custom sac.

If anyone else is interested in purchasing one of these for the new model 210s, please post a response and i will see if Fly High can cut any type of group discount.

I'd be interested in one of these arrow bags for my 08 210. The $410 price quoted in the other thread seems steep

Got a quote of $389 from fly high for the mushroom sac. They must not be motivated to build custom sacs.
