Have an '08 211TE. Late last summer it got about 4 or 5 scratches from a dock that floated over it's pylons. Scratches are about 1-2", depth is below gelcoat (chalky white colre at full depth of scratch), all are above waterline by several inches. Repair cost is $500. They bug me a little cosmetically, but so does being $500 poorer. Would you repair them? Just fill them with something to keep gelcoat from blistering?

RE: Repair scratches? Or not?
Repair them yourself. Most colored gelcoats will look white and chalky in the area of a scratch. Correct Craft gelcoat is usually fairly thick, and can be scratched deeper than you would think, without going all the way through the gelcoat.
You can order gelcoat from:
www.spectrumcolor.com
www.minicraft.com
both companies will offer advise on gelcoat repair.
You can also search in the forums using "gelcoat and repair" for a search term, and come up with several matches.
I also wrote up some details on repairing gelcoat, search using my name "DanielC" and you will find some threads about gelcoat repair.

RE: Re: RE: Repair scratches? Or not?
If you don't fix the scratches, no harm will be done and blisters will not occur due to the scratches. It is strictly cosmetic, since you are asking the question, I think it bothers your enough that you should get them fixed.
