i dropped in a new engine in my 95 supersport(351w) a couple months ago and i just cant get it running correctly. it wont idle correctly(im thinking idle air controller and ive played with the timing) and the oil pressure is low (20 psi at running speed and still need to intall a new oil sending unit) but there is also a strange noise the engine is making and im so sick of the boat not running right im ready to take it in. so does anyone have any recommendations for a mechanic around lake anna. alan

This area is pretty tough. The closest Nautique dealer is down at Lake Gaston. Personally, whenever I need work done, I head down to White Lake's Burlington location. It is a bit of a drive, but well worth it. Their Burlington location might still be closed due to the fire though.

There is also a dealer at Smith Mtn Lake. Still a drive, but a little closer than White Lake. Call Rusty at Webster Marine.

I wouldn't take my boat to any place around there...I'd think you'd probably have better luck solving those problems going to Richmond and have a speed shop take a look at it. There has to be a place that specializes in Fords or Mustangs (huge 5.0 following in that area).
You also might want to try Southern Ski Boats in Richmond. They don't rep Nautiques (MB, Moomba, and Epic), but I'd bet they are far more knowledgable than the lake anna boat shops.Comment

Dont know if the OP is still looking but I have lived at the lake for 15 plus years and have owned many different brands of inboard ski boats. I can recommend only one person and that is Rob at The Boat Shop (High Point Marina). Knows his stuff, good prices, and a cool guy. He's the only one I trust with my stuff on Lake Anna, presently an 03 SAN. He will hook you up for sure.Comment
