FCT safe or legal to sit on?

Coming up in a few weeks is our annual governors fishing opener and I've been asked to carry a couple of AP photogs around for a couple of days in our 211. I expect one of the first thing they'll want to do is sit up on the tower and I'd bet one of them will want to stand on it.

I am sure others will disagree, but I see the pros routinly shoot video and stills from the top of a tower. I personally use mine as a diving platform when we are parked and swimming and stuff. I dont see the harm in it.

It wont harm the tower I can tell you that. If you are not moving or just "trolling" I wouldn't have a problem with them sitting on it. Standing might be a bit much if a wave or something comes in you cant slid off it as if you were sitting in it but instead you would fall and that might be a law suit.
As far a legality, as long as the boat is not in motion I don't think you will get to much fuss and if you do it will be a simple please get off. No worries.

Legally - No way, that is an easy if not given ticket (at least in Florida).
Safe? - That would be up to the person getting up there (I have done it several times - pics look good with view over the rope rather than under)

We take surfing pics from the tower occasionally. It is safe at 10mph, probably not any faster.

We also use ours as a diving platform.

We sit on our tower all the time.. We once had 4 kids sitting on the tower for some fireworks. A buddy of mine when he bought his boat he had some gator grip on top.

i don't do it anymore but i used to do flips off my tower all the time, and it's fun on late night booze cruises to sit up there, but anything faster than idle is very unsafe.
