Leather Menders located in Austin, TX did the work and was reasonably priced. Next year, the windsheild frame gets painted.

RE: Showing off repaired dash pod vinyl
Looks great!!
Good to know there is a local shop that does good work. I may need the same work in the coming years for my '99 SSN.1999 Super Sport Nautique

Cost was about $150.00. If I knew what they had to do to fix it, I would have done it myself. Basically it involves filling the tears, missing or damaged areas with some sort of elastomeric filler and then texturing and painting to match the surrounding vinyl. You absolutely cannot tell where the repair was made.

Showing off repaired dash pod vinyl
Does anyone know where to buy the wood grain applique for the dash? I have a 1999 Ski and was sorry I never bought this option when I purchased the boat. I don't need the steering wheel, but the dash would be a nice upgrade. Thanks

Dash pod looks great David. I'd gladly pay the $150 for a job that well done. I usually do things myself because jobs by others tend not to be that well done. Now

RE: Showing off repaired dash pod vinyl
That does look great!! Before I bought my SAN I think someone ripped the dash off trying to steal the stereo. There are a couple cracked parts of the shell, and the bottom two screw holes for mounting it are no longer holes, but large slots. Did they do any structural repair? or just to the vinyl ?
I also wish my boat had been ordered with the woodgrain dash. It looks classier with that thant he black plates.the WakeSlayer

RE: Showing off repaired dash pod vinyl
My pod (and every pod on past boats) had the same problem with the two holes down close to the helm broken out with the vinyl ripped. Before I took the pod to the vinyl repair shop, I repaired the screws holes with fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin. I ground the repair to the proper contour and sent the pod off for vinyl repair. Repairs were done to the vinyl around the holes and the rodent chewed areas. All spots good as new and the fiberglass repair areas hold up fine....just make sure you roughen up the plastic very well beforehand.

I have never seen the PP control panel in this location before either, but I like it...puts the controls right at your throttle hand. If I ever upgrade to PP Pro (or similiar), i will probably put a clock in the hole since my air/water temp gauge is occupying the place normally housing the clock. Not sure if the boat was ordered this way or not, but I suspect it was a dealer installed item.

RE: Showing off repaired dash pod vinyl
Mine came with the PPC in the same spot. Pretty stupid placement if you ask me. I have a Harmon Kardon iPod control that i filled the hole and put that there in place of the cruise control. It fits perfectly. If or when I ever get a new stereo for the boat, I will have to fill that and gel over it.the WakeSlayer
