I was down at Ryan creek this past weekend, With this thread more or less bashing them, I felt I needed to list my positive experience with them.

I was staying close by for the weekend with a house full of people, Turns out my Nautique and the wifes Jetski were the only toys due to my Dad'sboat being in for service. Well, he forgot to bring his life jackets, leaving us short if we loaded up the jetski and the boat at the same time.

So....off to Ryan Creek to see if we could get some "Orange" jackets to be legal. The only ones she had were in ripped packaging, nothing wrong with the jacket, just the plastic bags ripped and lost. Ryan Creek gave me those vest so my family could enjoy the weekend on the water. Did not charge me a dime becasue they understoof we just needed something to be legal and had a pile of "good " vests at the house.

So +1 for the service gals at Ryan Creek.

BTW, the only business I have done with them in the past was to purchase some minor parts. I bought my boat used from an individual.

WOW!! Who da' thunk? It does appear like some conflicting stories here ("Cool guy", factor is shrinking). Did the search. Yup, it looks like the same boat still for sale (Even while soaked)......Silly thought, if the water is as clear as it appears in the photos , then how ever could you see even 5 feet? Never mind 30 feet. Red or not. Is this lake really this dirty? I hope I hear how this story clears up soon. I am a very cynical person to start, this is only adding to it for now. I thought of the people on this site to be relatively genuine (I realize that one-apple......), but it still stings. Lvn, Still waiting for explanation....

Does this mean it is clear or are the rest of the lakes just, "Not-so-clear"? Coming from the northeast, there are several lakes you can see 30 feet (Barely), but many-many you can only see 10' or less. went scuba in winnipesaukee last summer. vis of about 10' at best. Dive lights from other divers at about 20' (Barely).

THAT is a gorgeous lake! we were in moltonborough a few years ago and i thought i had died and gone to heaven!

Smith Lake is extremely clear, but even then I don't think visibility to 30 feet is realistic. Even if you could see that deep, nothing is distinguishable because everything is green on the bottom and becomes camoflauged. I dropped a lawn chair one time off my dock into about 10 feet of water and I could see it, but only because the sun reflected off of the shiny metal. In this situation he said that the boat was standing upright on it's transom - so that would put the bow about 10 feet down. You could probably see that, but only if you knew exactly where to look.

you only have 7-10 ft vis. theoretically you could see the nose if it was sticking nose up like he says with the platform on the bottom. Ryan Creek Service is terrible, just sayin.

Smith Lake was ranked last year as the 3rd cleanest lake in the USA. The water is very beautiful, but I've never been able to see the bottom at 30ft. 10-15 ft, maybe on a really good day.

I want to see how this shakes out. I have had a few doubts since this thread began. I don't think many people leave lead in the rear of a SN, either.

I am not sure what you are trying to do here but I want to know why you insured your boat for $30K if you are asking only $25K for it for sale?

My boat has been insured from the day I bought it a year+ ago for this amount. I lowered the price due to the market tanking. I found an open bow I wanted for 25k

You have listed the boat for sale on this site for $25K taking offers on Feb 2, 2009 (that would be the date after you knew it was sunk, and it should have been at Ryan Creek for repairs). Why would you list a boat for sale on this site after it was sunk and not repaired?
No I listed before I found it was sunk. Notice I have not bumped it up. If I could delete the old thread I would If I could delete this one I would. I am tanking a bunch of **** for something I didnt do.


Also, in one of your first posts, you told me you bought the boat for $12K, and posted on this site you bought it for 12K and then the dealer at Huston Motors righted the conversation by verifying that you paid $22K for this boat. I did not pay 22k for the baot I traded a boat I only had 12k in get your facts right.

Search posts for LVNSPEED and see what I am talking about.

I don't know why anyone would post a sunken boat for sale and also tell everyone online that he paid half what he did and wants to insure it for $7,000 more than he bought it for then it turns up sunken 30 feet (which I don't believe will happen with a Nautique.)

I am not sure what you are trying to do here but I want to know why you insured your boat for $30K if you are asking only $25K for it for sale?

I don't think this is unusual. I have my boat insured for more that I could sell it for right now. I would guess that most policies that have a set value when the boat is purchased are not reduced over the years due to depreciation.

I wish LVN would share the story on here for us all to see. I'd still like to hear details on how he found the boat in that depth of water, and how he got it up.
