i can't believe the motor will even think about turning over, seems like they could check that with a breaker bar and save the trouble of the ecu.

If the plug is out, the bilge pump will not keep up with the water coming in. It does not matter if the bilge was on or off.
My thoughts on the motor, and this is taken from information about outboard motors, is this. Once it is back above the surface of the water, you generally have about a day, to change the oil, and to get it running again, to dry it out.
If you cannot get it running that day, generally, you need to completely disassemble, and dry each individual piece of the motor, and put it back together.

I believe every Correct Craft does have a factory code permanently stored.
When I was working at a CC dealer, one of our customers had a keypad go bad on his boat, when he was on vacation, on Lake Shasta, 800 miles away.
We pulled a keypad out of an in stock boat on the floor, and overnighted it to him. It was a very long ordeal to get the replacement keypad for the floor boat.
Have I mentioned how much I like my conventional key switch on my boat!

no way they got it started, if they did it would have sunk out in the channel, in 150ft. I had a "friend" whose boat we were in "He" forgot to put the plug in and we ran for at least a couple of minutes before we realized what had happened and got the plug in. first thing we noticed was the bilge pumping nonstop. opened the hatch and figured it out pretty quick. Thumb in the hole while he looked for the plug.
I would never have made that mistake
They were trying to figure out how to start it and it sank right there. only way i can see it happening.

i don't think there is a factory code. i know you can set two codes or no code at all. i meant that leaving the plug in switch to bilge on and the boat would at least be floating ya know, and if you lock it up so well why not run a cable through the eye hook, use a hunting tree cam, or get zoombak. either way, whomever did this knew about nautiques if they flipped the switch up. it may be simple but those unfamiliar with it are clueless every time

i think the mastercode sounds kind of lame. any former cc dealer employee could come steal your boat with ease. i mean ya it's needed i guess if someone buys one and doesn't know the previous owner's code, but it should have to be hooked into a computer or something.

So Lvn, how dumb were these guys? Where was the plug hidden that they couldn't find it? I keep mine in the cupholder by the dash - easy to see if you're looking for it.

I kept the drain plug in the cooler in the floor. We always put drinks in there with Ice before we let the lift down this keeps me from forgetting to put it in.
      stupid marina said it wont be until Tuesday mid before they could get the keypad. Man this is dragging out big time.2003 226 LE
